Soarin ?

I really really love Soarin. I was a little nervous when I did it in Disneyland because they had the little TV screens with the clouds and I was afraid of what that would be like on the actual ride. But, I did fine and ended up loving it. We went over spring break last year and got to do the preview for it before it was officially open. My mom, who is not a big thrill ride person at all thought it was great too. I think this is one of the best Disney attractions EVER. I'd definitely give it a try!

my mom really liked it ans she usually sits off lots of rides.

My DD who is scared of most of the rides in Fantasyland, really loved the ride. We are getting ready to head back down there this June and it is all she can talk about. "Daddy, are we going to Soarin'? When are we going to get on it?" She is obsessed with this ride. I am sure you will enjoy it as well. :thumbsup2

I'm a ride chicken too, and I really liked Soarin'! I went on it with my 4-yo ds, who was afraid of it to start with, we were a good pair. He decided he liked it too, except for the part at the end, but that wasn't ride scary it was one of the scenes he didn't like, and it won't bother you at all.

I'm very scared of heights and the first time I road Soarin', I was petrified. Literally could not move because I was so scared...all I wanted was for the ride to end! I pretty much kept my eyes closed the whole time. But, everyone in my party just raved about the ride, so I gave it another try...and loved it! It was still scary, but I knew what to expect and was able to relax enough to really enjoy it.

My DS is the biggest chicken ever but she rode it and loved then went on it again. And we were in the first row both times.

So what exactly do you do on this ride? I have no problems with height, I just cannot deal with rides that send me upside down, so I assume Soarin' would be fine. However, is it appropriate for a 7 year old? I just want to explain what the ride is about before she gets on it so she can decide if she'd like to ride it or not.

You walk through the queue's and are then assigned a row. Walk way to the end of your row. Sit in your seat with the seat belt on. When the ride begins you are lifted into the air and a movie comes on. The movie fills the screen giving you the sensation that you are hang gliding. It is NOT a thrill ride. If at any time you are afraid of the height part of it, close your eyes. Disney does this ride well as they have added scents and gently breezes to really give you the feeling of riding. In reality, you don't go anywhere :) If you are on the lower rows you can actually see the people above you dangling their feet. This can be a comfort (if you're afraid of heights) or a pain if you're really trying to get into the whole hang gliding feeling. When we rode on it a little girl who was probably 4 rode next to me. She loved it. Our grandsons will be going on it in a few weeks...Have fun, no worries with this one. :sunny: :thumbsup2
