Soarin' still gets crazy in the afternoon, but there's a lot more points in the day where the wait approaches 30 minutes instead of 60 minutes. Wait times are often inflated on it. If you walk into the queue and you're already midway through the trivia screens then that 90 minute posted time is probably not correct. (Unless a theater is down or something, but, you'll be able to tell because standby won't move at all, if that's the case, I would just leave and come back later. Do keep in mind though that Soarin' is a punctuated loading attraction, not a continuous. They pull the people for a whole theater as soon as the last theater loads and then you have however long it is between before they pull the next big group. So, it's like 6? minutes of the line not moving at all, then moving a lot. Other rides, like the Little Mermaid ride in Magic Kingdom and Nemo in Epcot load constantly, so if their lines aren't moving at all there's either technical trouble or a huge fp+ group entering )
No matter what wait time is posted, we walk into the queue and look at it ourselves.
There are ride queue videos for most of the attractions posted on places like Youtube. So you can always pull one of those up to better gauge how much longer the line is before the FP joins.
