I was working on my plans for Epcot today and I don't know how to go about being able to ride both Soarin and Test Track w/o a huge wait. Touring Plans for families w/ small children only have Soarin on the plans, not Test Track. They say to ride Soarin first thing. But what do we do if we want to ride both?

Should we get FP for Soarin first and then ride TT on standby? Or vice versa?

Thanks for any advice.

We (it's just DW and I) always go to Soarin' and get a FP and then head to TT to ride standby...if you're there at rope drop you should be fine having no problem getting both of them within the first 2 hours. From my experience the wait time at Soarin' goes up faster than Test Track....if I'm wrong the queue makes TT more entertaining at Test Track than Soarin'. So if you do have to wait in line I'd rather wait at Test Track than Soarin'.

Have one person run and get FP's for Soarin' while the rest go and get in the standby line for TT. Then that person can catch up in line with the rest of your group once they have the Soarin' FP's. Soarin' is a typical first stop for people arriving at Epcot, so this plan will have you stand in line for less time. :wizard: Of course you could also just do something else and come back and get FP's for TT once you are able to get another FP after Soarin'. :goodvibes

Uh, that's not very cool. Its okay to have a runner get fast passes, but the group going to TT should wait to enter the queue until the runner gets back. You aren't going to win many friends and may even get some people pretty upset because the group going to TT will probably be well through the line before the runner gets back.

We are able to go to Soarin, get a FP, get in the stand by line and ride, walk over to TT, and ride it in the standby or if the wait time is getting long, we grab a FP for TT once the Soarin one comes up (around 9:40).. We then can go back and use our Soarin FP and then use the TT FP afterwards.. Either way, we are able to ride all the major rides at Epcot within 2 hours multiple times when we get there at rope drop.

We have my husband (he has long legs and moves fastest) go to Soarin for the FPs at rope drop. We don't even stand with him at rope drop - we let him go where he needs to go to get going to that area.

We then walk more leisurely over to TT - and find a spot on the ledge there toward the entrance and sit and wait. Typically we hardly have to wait as he moved pretty quickly and we take our time.

We then all get in line together and do TT - at that point its still pretty much a walk on and much easier than someone trying to catch up through the queue.

Is your 3-year-old under 40 inches? If so, he won't be able to ride on either ride -- in which case you should probably get Soarin FP first, then go to TT and the two adults take turns using the single-rider lane (it will be fast), and then do the Parent Swap thing when you return to Soarin to use your Fast Passes.

Uh, well count us as "not very cool" either. This is our strategy when we go later this month. There are four of us and this is usually how we do it every trip.:goodvibes

Yep, he's 41", and I'm sure he'll love TT, since he's into race cars now.

Go to soarin first... as fast as you can.

Get a fast pass for everyone in your party. Get in the regular line and ride it once. Use the fast pass and do it again. It is that good that you will want to do it twice.

Then head over to Test Track and get a fast pass. Do whatever and just ride Test Track when your time is up. It should still be early morning. Then you will have the park practicallyto yourself for awhile as people are fighting with those two and you are done!

That's how we do it. :thumbsup2

Another Soarin FP/TT standby family here. Although I have the shortest legs in my family ;) , I'm the designated FP runner. We find with this strategy we can do TT, M:S and LWTL in an hour, and by then our Soarin FP window is open. After finishing Soarin, we grab another set of Soarin FPs for use later in the day before heading to the Land pavilion.

The politics of queue-jumping is another subject, but we just don't feel right having the family get in line and then have me push by folks to reach them. And DW prefers to avoid the mad dash, anyway, so they stroll to the TT entrance and wait for me to meet them, then we all enter together.

So you will have someone cut thru a line to catch up with a group? That's not only 'uncool' IMO that's just rude.

This sounds like a great strategy for our family...and even though I am the shortest, I am also the fastest do to all my planning and reading on here so I will go get the FPs and then meet them back at TT. DS can do M:S without us and after that we will head to the LwtL.

Thanks OP for your question and PP for your answers :)

Like several others here we go to Soarin grab a fast pass, ride Soarin stand by and then run over to test track and ride it stand by. Usually Test Track time is still 30 min or less, if it is more than that we wait and grab a fast pass when our Soarin time is up but that has only happened a couple of times.

This is what we do too. I am the FP runner and DH, can stroll over to TT with the kiddos. Too hard to travel fast with 4 of us.

When my DS1 was 3 years old this was his favourite ride too. He even befriended a cast member that thought he was just the cutest little guy and ended up giving us back door FPs 2x on our trip.

What a great way to put this, and a polite way to handle this. We're going with this plan!

What does stand by mean? Does it mean not riding the ride together? I hope not :confused3

Standby is just the regular line folks wait in to ride. At TT there are 3 lines: FastPass, Single Rider, and Standby.

Thanks for the info... So much to learn about Disney... Guess i will never have it "all" down...

Get fast pass for Soaring and head straight to Test Track! (Are you going right for when they open) because if not you may be up a creak without a paddle...
