It's 11:30am on the first day that Soarin' has reopened and the Disney experience app is showing a wait time of 120 minutes! 130 minutes for TT!!

What do you think? Is it a surge due to being closed for almost 6 months? Is Epcot especially crowded today due to the holiday weekend?

A little of both most likely.

Is the third theater open? I'm assuming that the new one identical to the first two and is capable of running the older movie but the posted wait time seems suspicious. I would expect Soarin' wait times to be significantly shorter than TT now, since their wait times always seemed to mirror each other when running two theaters.

I believe the third theater opened today. I saw a pic of the rope drop crowd for it and it looked pretty intense.

I'm just thrilled that it's back up and running! My sister's family is doing their first family WDW vacation next week and they were SOOO excited to find out that Soarin is open! They have their FP+'s now and can't wait!

Soarin is that one ride that signifies WDW for me.

Me too! I think it was the only "thrill" ride (and maybe it isn't really a thrill ride) my entire family rode together on our last trip. It carries a special place in my heart for sure!

I got myself a fp for tommorow, plan to meet john twinnings (the tea guy), then soarin, then head over to AK for tiffins and the first JB show :)

I am curious though, is all three theaters in use? I'm sure the third is opened, but are they actually using the other 2 as well?

Posted now is 90 minutes, expected is 77 minutes. Across the way, Test Track posted is 160 minutes, expected is 126 minutes. :scared1:

That's kind of confusing...

Touring plans has their own app that monitors lines to see what they really are. depending on how many people with the app are in line it can show you a different time than disney does as their method for tracking how long is to hand someone a lanyard and wait for them to actually get to the end of the line.. Disney is known to also crowd control using elevated wait times to try to get people to spread out more.

Really interested in hearing about the JB show, we have it scheduled first week in August.

So do you think touring plans is the best app to have?

Least recommended park on a high crowd day, not too surprising. Meanwhile, over at Hollywood Studios nothing is over 60 minutes.

I don't recommend an app. the MDE wait lines is good enough for me. I like going to the park and visiting disney. I look around, see what I feel iike doing, get in line when I want and skip when I'm not in the mood to wait. fp+, wait times, it's taken away experiencing disney to me and I like looking around and deciding while it's in front of me.

I would like to have one in case we decide we want to ride something all the way across the park . That way if it is a long wait we wont walk all the way there lol. It might help us decide what we do next.
