Soarin LIVE reports!

Don't know, I was just watching the show to enjoy it. In looking back, where there things that were CGI? Yeah, but for me, so what? I think I'd feel differently about it if they had the humans in the canoes doing backflips with the canoe while shooting the bad guy, because that would be Hollywood movie stuff. But they didn't. Like I said, the only thing that really was weird to me was the bending...that needs to be rectified. It's strange. I had fun and plan to see it again while we're here. My kids LOVED it.

I got a chance on sunday to see soarin....

- the lines were not that bad, lowest I saw posted was 20 minutes and highest was about 60 minutes (I didn't go right in the morning, this was mid-afternoon). It was a rainy morning so the park itself felt light on guests as if they went elsewhere because of the rain.
- all three theaters in action. theater c seemed to be fastpass (the new theater) but I wasn't in line long enough to see anyone go into a or b.
- the retaining wall where fastpass can't see standby seems to be so fastpass isn't distracted by the game on the wall. A little annoying, use standby if you want to see that game.

The movie:
- I liked it a lot. some interesting places, I liked the "surprises" that was the cut into a different location a lot. Smells were very fitting (does the taj mahal really smell like roses in person?)
- the pre-flight video is exactly the same video as before

surprised:
- wasn't there a big stink over getting WDW rights to fly over the magic kingdom? It wasn't in the film but instead was epcot which was nice.
- i had heard (from friend that worked on it) that a east coast movie was shot mostly in late 2014-2015. was the mk video actually another movie they are not finishing/releasing yet that is east coast us specific?

We're going this fall so can't wait to see it. If the ending is at EPCOT then I think it's totally appropriate since this film is soarin around the world. EPCOT has world showcase and IllumiNATIONs Reflections of Earth. Very fitting.

We loved it!!!!!!

Went yesterday, had a FP and the first time the ride experienced technical difficulties. We were already locked in, I guess we waited about 15-20 minutes or so while they fixed it. Best part, we were givin re-ride passes after we rode. So worth sitting there awhile!

So we walked around Workd Showcase and rode again, it was even better the second time!

I rode the old one many times and never was there a round of applause at the end of the ride like the one there was yesterday.

That's a bit silly. You are comparing a few experiences of your own to the brand new film that no one in the theater had seen yet and were all highly anticipating. (I rode the old one about 50 times - a few in the grand scheme - and I heard thunderous applause about 10% of the time at the end of the old film.)

My only point was that if it was really disappointing, I wouldn't have expected everyone on the ride to break into applause, no matter how much they had anticipated it. At the end of the day, I'm sure like you, I don't really have that much concern over whether others liked it or not. It's just interesting conversation. I liked it, my family liked it. Works for me.

Any one know what the standby wait time was today at rope drop? just wondering if the wait time is going down any.

thanks

Prior to the new change, Soarin' Over California was my favorite ride. The new version is wonderful too, although I slightly prefer the older version. They've tried to increase the thrill factor a little bit, which makes it less relaxing and soothing than the previous ride.

Yes, I am nit picking here. If you've never ridden either, I can't imagine you wouldn't love the new version. If you've ridden both, I'd say it might be 50/50 which one you prefer. But personally, I do prefer the style of the older version. We rode it four times this Sunday, and would have gladly ridden more if we had the chance. So yes, we liked it a lot.

We went to rope drop at the international gateway this past Monday. We actually got to the gate as they were letting people in. We arrived at Soarin at 9:05 and only had a 10 minute wait before we were on. I thought the new Soarin was absolutely awesome ! I loved it. I think it is better than the old Soarin. Cant wait to ride it again.
