I just watched the A&E special and I must say that soarin looks incredible. Im so excited to go to Peoct and this ride seems worth the long waits. The only problem that I have with this ride is that it seems that if your in the second or thid row you will see a bunch of swinging feet. Can you ask to sit in the front or is it random seating?

You can ask to sit in the first row if you want. We have been in the back rows before and you don't notice the feet unless you look up. Most of the stuff is in front or below you so it didn't seem to be a problem with us.

We were also in the back row, and the feet above you are no distraction unless you look up, but no reason to do so IMO.

I agree, it looks like a great ride. Is it something an 8 yo would like? She doesn't like anything "scary" (even Splash Mountain is out of the question with her).

It ends the same way- everyone claps! It's that good.

The first time I rode it in DCA, it brought me to tears. We had planned a driving trip from SF to Yosemite, through central California and down to Anaheim, so we had "been" to 2/3 of the places in Soarin. Soarin does an incredible job of capturing the awe of most of those places.

leaving for Yosemite in 6 weeks, DisneyWorld in 10 weeks!

You don't notice the feet, it's not a big deal. The seating is front to back and it depends on where you happen to be in line. You'll enjoy it no matter where you sit! Relax your at WDW! Have fun!

I think Soarin is amazing and well worth the wait. It was just what Epcot needed!! I am in awe everytime I ride it! (which is alot)

"EVEN Splash Mtn?" I hate drops (and speed for that matter), and Splash's drop is way too much for me.

I agree with everyone though -- Soarin' is my favorite ride ever. It brought me to tears too at DCA (the music in the queue did that to me first). It's just beautiful, and I don't mind the quick screen cuts in the least (there are some people on other threads who are distracted by them) because they really flow with the music.

I look forward to that golf ball (w/a hidden Mickey!) every time!

This is the best ride I have ever been on. I was able to ride it twice last year and I can't wait to ride it agan this year. I can't really coment on the feet issue as I was on the front row. I just got "lucky" I guess as I didn't request it either time but I was still there. But it is an amazing ride. :thumbsup2

We loved it. It was much better than I could of imagined. :thumbsup2

Soarin' is FABULOUS!!!!

To address your concerns, you can see feet, but it's not really distracting. We rode twice, the first time we were sprinkled with a big bag of pixie dust, and ended up sitting in the middle of the front row. The 2nd time we were in row 3. While we preferred the front row, and who wouldn't, both times were great. It's one of those rides that you need to do several times to catch all the details.

As for kids liking it, my DD5 said that it was her favorite ride of the trip. She is not a coaster girl, and gets carsick at the drop of a hat, but LOVED Soarin'.

Soarin is OK, but not enough of a thrill to wait more than 1/2 an hour in line. Only way to do this ride is with fastpass - don't waste 2 hours in line for this ride.

I personally thought Soarin' was AWESOME and so did my friends. Best ride at EPCOT by far. We never waited in a long line...we always had fastpasses, but we rode three times with fast passes and loved it every time. I did think the front row was best because of no feet above, but I still loved it even when I could see the feet.

What could be exciting about sitting in a practically motionless chair and watching a big IMAX screen??

That's the question I asked myself before "riding" Soarin'... Well I was way wrong when questioning the excitement of this ride, let me tell you. It was one of my favorites for sure. The screen is so large, the ride system so well thought out and the sound is so good that it really makes you feel like you're flying!!

I give this attraction 5 out of 5 stars. It's awesome. It was both my wife's and my daughter's favorite ride in all of WDW...
