I went on Soarin' for the first time this past Saturday and boy was I disappointed. If it weren't for the fact that I had a FP and only wait 15 mins I would probably thrown a fit when it was over. I cannot believe there are people who will wait 2.5+ hrs for this.
You will then ask why I did not like it. Well, it is just unimpressive. The actual movie is no different than a normal IMAX theatre and the "effects" of feeling like you are flying, i.e. the air blowing, slight movement, smells are pathetic. Lastly, the movie itself was poorly edited. I found it annoying that you jump from place to place to place without any rhyme, reason, or transition. I cannot imagine the feelings someone would have after waiting over 2 hrs for that...
Initially, what even drew me to want to do this ride in the first place was the technology of the ride mechanism, but I got to see/hear more about that on the Travel and History channel than actually in Soarin'.
I guess I can say now that I have ridden it, and now have formed my own opinion and I know others have their opinions. On the next trip, I will save my time for another round of MS or TT.
