Soarin' Gone Wild

I'm putting on my flame suit here,:firefight but was it necessary to label the group of teenagers by their race? surely "a group of teenagers" would have been just as acceptable than singling out one race. teens are teens,no matter what race their from

Unfortunately whereever we go, there are going to be people like this, even at Disney. But its good to know that Disney tries their best to make sure that their guests enjoy every minute of their time (and big money :teeth: ) spent there.

Man, we could have used that CM at Soarin' last week! We got to ride it for the first time this trip (only got on twice because we were not willing to ride w/o fastpass), and we had a couple of real twits next to us who kept screaming and yelling stupid stuff through the ride. It was really obnoxious, especially since the parks were so crowded and it was unlikely anyone would be able to ride again that day--the fastpasses were out by noon or so, and the standby return was 100 minutes.

Thankfully the second time we rode it the audience behaved themselves.

I apologize Adrienne, but the majority of teens we encountered during our trip were very polite, nothing like these girls. I can see where you are coming from though, thanks for the heads up.

Applause. Now only if they would do that on ToT. Not the real screamers of course. The ones who purposely and LOUDLY start screaming as soon as the doors to the library close. We do everything we can to avoid those guests.

And with the water bottle on SM (or any such object) that EASILY could have shut down SM for HOURS had that bottle lodged in a mechanism.

I am glad to hear that Disney did something about the bratty kids and I am very glad to hear that they made it possible for you to see the attraction again.

If I was their mom, I would be going WWF on them. :teeth:

Good for Disney for throwing them out, bad me for reading this as now I am terrified to go on it. I hate heights and knowing that I am up that high, don't know if I can do it now

If you do Soarin', ask to be on Row 3. That row doesn't go very far up. To be honest, you really can't tell how high you go, since it is dark. We did Row 3 first, then went back and did Row 1 to see what it was like without having all the feet dangling in our view.

Will the CM's be accommodating if you request a certain row? Ex: row 3, or row 1? Or will they generally just tell you to go wherever they tell you to go? I've personally never requested a row (been in 3, and 2) but am just wondering in case for future reference i feel like getting a certain row.

Yes, both times we requested a certain row. If that row is full, you might have to wait a couple of minutes until they start filling up the rows again. The first time we requested row 3 (I wasn't sure if DD7 would be scared of going up too high), and the second time we requested row 1, so we could see what it was like to ride without having the other peoples' feet in the picture.

I just came back from Disneyland with 2 11yr olds. And learned a thing or two.

1st. You can always ask for the front, and the CM's will try to help you. 1st row on Space Mtn is unbelievable!

2nd. 11 yr olds don't realize when they play around, they can bump into others. I put a stop to that real quick!!

3rd A couple of boys started playing with the water on Spash Mtn, and I used my teacher voice to stop that before it got dangerous. I love that voice!!! :teacher:

I remember when I saw some Disney suits escort a group of kids off PoC. They had been standing up, yelling, and splashing. Disney has cameras all over the rides, so they are watching!! :earsgirl:

I never hesitate to say something about behavior from kids(unless there is an adult around) that could be dangerous or thoughtless. And they always stop. They are kids. They haven't quite figured out how bad behavior impacts others. I am more than happy to teach them!! ::MinnieMo

Thanks for the heads up I will ask for row 3 and give it a whirl. I assume there are seat belts, my ds is only 5 will he be old enough or is there a height requirement?

Kitty Kitty, I have my teacher voice with me at all times too! Hopefully I won't have to use it for this trip

There are seat belts and they all have between leg straps for the small kids and no particular height requirement as I can recall

Thanks, I am just terrified of heights but do not want to miss another ride with the kids. I don't do the coasters or test track, though this year I am considering doing that one too. Thanks for the info

The CM's will definitely accomodate seating requests if you are flexible. I asked on one occassion to be seated in the first row, and they said, fine, but that I had to wait for the next run--which was fine, and they sat me in the first row. Since they typically load the third row last, such a request should not be hard to accomodate at all. And, the ride really is smooth. And you always feel secure, so please give it a try. It's my new EPCOT favorite!

I am going to brave it and ask for the 3rd row. Like I said I need to brave up for the boys!
