Can a person who is afraid of heights and avoids all but the tamest of roller coasters (can handle Big Thunder Mtn. but not Space Mtn.) handle Screamin'?

Thanks!

Yes, I really think you can. :) There are a couple of high points but Screamin' is a VERY smooth coaster and you don't get bounced around at all. It's one of my favorites. :)

Oh wait! I'm an idiot! I think Screamin' isn't the one I really mean! I mean the one that has the 4 tiers and the big screen . . . is that Soarin' not Screamin'? I'm so confused!!! But thanks Michelle!

I am quite afraid of heights, but like both Soarin' and Screamin'. The first time I rode Soarin' I held on very tightly and was quite nervous, but you get caught up in the ride and soon don't notice you're above ground. Try not to sit on an end as you feel more secure with people on either side of you.

I don't think you would be afraid of Soarin'. As far as the tiers, you won't hardly notice you're off the ground. In fact, when I first rode it, I was shocked when I found out how the ride works! :D Still, don't look down if you're afraid.

The film is made to look like your hangliding over various sights, and there are a couple parts that kind of scared me the first time, but I think I was more excited than anything else. If you feel scared, you can always close your eyes. Remember, the ride itself is not really moving--it's just an illusion. :p

Don't skip out on this ride! It's the most unique ride I've ever been on, and it's SO much fun!

DO NOT MISS Soarin' Over California! :) You won't have a problem with it at all, it is an awesome ride.

I don't know if it has affected many others, but I got a little motion-queasy on Soarin'. And I'm not usually one that gets motion sickness (roller coasters, tea cups, etc). I think it was the smooth motion feel with the moving screen that did it to me.

I'm prone to motion sickness and Soarin' didn't bother me, but a friend I was with felt a little sick from it. The last time I was there a girl tossed her cookies on the exit ramp after riding. I was so glad I was ahead of her!! Remember, if you're going to be sick, try to not get sick in the middle of the only exit ramp! Lean to the side!

DW hates coasters & is afraid of heights. However, upon the completetion of our recent trip, we both decided Soarin' Over California our favorite is DL attraction!

I find that when I start to get queasy on motion simulator rides all I need to do is close my eyes. This cuts off the illusion of motion and settles the equilibrium.

I think you want to be in the 3rd row - closest to the floor. Supposed to be best if you're afraid of heights.

I didn't realize that I was afraid of heights until I went on this ride. I was in the 2nd row and it felt high!

Love Big Thunder and would never ride Space Mountain. Soarin is a fabulous ride. Possibly our favorite in DCA. If it starts to bother you, just close your eyes and breath easy.

There is a rumor of a Soarin-esque ride coming to Epcot! I hope they are right because it is truly very well done!

I got the third 3 row both times we went on this ride. I thought it was so funny to see swing feet just over head!!LOL The 3rd row only goes up enough so all the feet clearthe floor. Ask for that row!! You will love this ride!! 1 other trick is to watch the center of the screen in front of you! I bet if you do close your eyes it won't be for very long. You will want to open then to see what that intriguing fragance is???
