Our trip spans the last week of August and 1st week of Sept, typically a low crowd time (we will not be at Epcot on Labor Day Weekend).

Test Track will be closed.

My plan initially was to send the family to MS (I do not ride that) to ride stand by while I get FP for Soarin. After one or two turns on MS, head to innoventions for Sum of All Thrills, then over to Soarin.

Does thia timing seem right? I am concerned that if I pull at FP at rope drop, my return time will be too close. What is the first return time usually? If it 910am - 1010am I don't think I have enough time.

I'm not sure of the numbers, but Sum of All Thrills takes quite a bit of time, even if the line is short. I think MS plus that would be too long for a first-of-the-day Fastpass. If it were me, I'd be stressed over making it and not enjoy SOAT.

Lines for MS haven't seemed very long lately. Maybe you could go there later?

Interesting, but this guy seems like a real jerk. Who makes jokes about Christa McAuliffe?!?!?!? If he really hasn't heard of her, our education system is really failing us.

Josh's sense of humor isn't for everyone (I personally think he is hilarious), but his information is really good. I havn't found another sourse that offers the detailed walk throughs that he does and combines it with simple guidelines to minimize wait times. His site really is a solid resourse overall.

I think you're FPs for Soarin' will be between 9-10am if you get them right at RP. However, doesn't everyone have a cell phone so you can text/call the time you have to come back? It doesn't sound to me like you'll have any problems.

Sum of all Fears wasn't as long of a wait as I thought it would be. Sign said 40 min but we waited less than 20. And it was... tame. We chose all the "thrilling" ones and I think thought I could do without. It's cool to look at but I would skip in the future.

I would plan MS for them, you go to Soarin, ride Soarin when it's up, and do Sum of All Fears AFTER.

However, have you thought about just riding Soarin' right away? It's such a waste of a fast pass IMO when the line is short stand-by and you get a fast pass for the same time.

I believe the first FPs are for 9:40-10:40. I would let them ride MS and you ride Soarin standby and then get FPs. If the return time already says 9:40-10:40, you could get the FPs before you ride(your call). Then meet them at SOAT and ride that together. I would think you'd be done in plenty of time to use your FP by 10:40. You might even have time to do Living with the Land if you like that ride.

This is pretty much what our group did last week, except we all went to get Soarin FPs at rope drop(return time 9:40-10:40). Then the teens went over to ride Mission Space, rode it twice, and we rode Soarin once, then we ended up at SOAT at about the same time. We all made it to use our Soarin FPs by 10:40. This was during a busy time too.

Thanks so much for your help. We usually spend the first hour at test track (riding it over and over) so I am really unfamilir with how the lines build at the other rides.

I love new site to check out. THanks for the link.

Hysterical post from easywdw

Related question from that post- someone mentioned comparing crowd calendars. Easywdw and undercover tourist have very different ranking of parks. Which is better to use? Our first day is Saturday Dec 1. One has Epcot least crowded and the other 3rd or 4th!! What's up with that

The guy's humor is OK but I'm a bit surprised that he didn't know who Christa McAuliffe was too. Wow.

Anyway, does anyone know if 60 minute waits are pretty common for the Sum of All Thrills?

I don't know about Undercover Tourist, but what I like about EasyWDW is that Josh explains why he recommends (or doesn't recommend) a particular park on a particular day. For instance, for December 1 he recommends Epcot because he says that a lot of people will have gone to Epcot the day before due to the evening EMH. Of course one thing to keep in mind for December is that if you want to see Wishes and MSEP, you may have to go to MK on a day that's not recommended.

What is sum of all thrills???

Sum of All Thrills is an experience in Innovations where you design your own roller coaster and then ride it in a simulator.

What is sum of all thrills???

What it isn't...thrilling :confused3 !

My DD9 and I designed a roller coaster that was supposed to be pretty awesome and I wanted my 45 minutes in line given back to me pixiedust: . So did my daughter. very disappointed by it. In a word...boring.
