Duration of ride: The Soarin' experience, including pre-flight briefing, is ten minutes. The Soarin' flight lasts approximately five minutes; Locations featured: San Francisco, Monterey Coast, Yosemite National Park, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe, Palm Springs, San Diego, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, Los Angeles, Malibu and Disneyland in Anaheim.



Scents experienced: Orange blossoms, pine forests and ocean spray; Music: Orchestral musical score created by renowned film and television composer Jerry Goldsmith ("Mulan," "Air Force One," "Star Trek: First Contact").



Projection system: IMAX projection System, with high-speed (48fps) high definition Omni-max film projectors (Twice the speed of normal motion picture film); Size of projection screen Dome: 80-foot diameter.



Ride system: Walt Disney Imagineering- developed motion-based technology, the original ride inception was based on an erector set model created by Imagineer Mark Sumner. One million pounds of steel provides the ride structure and 37 tons are lifted during each ride cycle; Height guests are lifted into screen: 40 feet; Total number of guests per each ride cycle: 87.

We were there last week and rode Soarin' 3 times thanks to the Fastpass system (gotta love it). It is such a beautiful and relaxing ride.

I really don't think it is a factor at all. This is a very gentle, peaceful ride.

Personally I like the ride better than the book.

Soarin is Borin! This ride is only worth it if you get fast passes. When I got a fast pass there was a 100 minute wait. for a 5 minute ride. Worth it if you get the fast pass for it, not worth it if you are waiting 100 minutes.

This is one of the rides I'm really looking forward to...only 3 more days!! We're planning on going to Epcot on the day we arrive, but it won't be until about 3 pm, so the fastpasses will probably be gone by then. We'll definitely have to make sure to head right to Soarin when we go to Epcot on one of the mornings.

Loved it! But I was too busy watching the screen and listening to the music... I missed the smells!!

We'll just have to do it again next time!!

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. Once you board the ride do they give you very much time to get buckled in? I have a 5 year old and I'll be needing to buckle him and then myself. Also I have a fear of heights so when you say 40 feet up can you actually notice how high you are or are you kinda oblivious to it?
