Soarin..Do you love it?

10 years ago and watching it in CA......it was much better than all these years later.
I could skip it and only do it every couple of trips, but DH still loves it and wants to go every visit to Epcot.
I will not wait more than 10 minutes.
We do rope drop and then go over to TT and do single rider (I won't wait long for any ride, including that one)

I've only been on it once but wasn't impressed, though part of that is probably because I waited a long time for it. I'm going to give it another chance in May if I can get a FP+.

DH says it's an attraction of diminishing returns. Every time he's done it, he's a bit less enamored with it. He's at the 'just okay' stage.

I like it a lot more, but I didn't appreciate it until we went to SoCal and could put the scenes in better context. I totally agree that it is in need of a refurb. And as much as I like it, a new movie would be fine.

I really don't like Soarin, I've only ridden it once and I felt like I was constantly about to fall out of my seat. I hated the experience and sadly it's not a ride I'll do again.

We like it, but not enough to stand in a line longer than say 20 minutes or even to go out of our way for a FP. Plus it makes me a little nauseous. :confused3

That said, the popularity of it and TT makes the rest of Epcot much more manageable. :thumbsup2

I used to love it and have settled into liking it. It is a must do at EPCOT. The thing is it could be so much more.

I have no problem rushing there first thing in the morning, and I have no issue with getting a FP for it later in the day, but when I see someone get into a SB line that is already listed as being 90 minutes, I think to myself: "There goes the dumbest person on the planet." Not in a mean way, mind you. But in a funny way.

It's okay. As others have said, it really needs some work (like most of Epcot). Rumors are going around that eventually there will be a new HD movie and that would be really cool. As it is now, if there's no wait :rotfl2:, I'll see it, but otherwise I can do without it. Last year I went just as Illuminations was starting so the line was on the short side and I saw it and enjoyed it. It's just not worth the wait.

I like it, but my husband LOVES it. So, thanks to his passion for this ride, we never get to use our FP+ for Test Track.

Fortunately, the single rider line is short in the morning, and during Illuminations.

And I have to say, the last time we rode, we were right next to an elderly couple who were quite scared about getting on. We reassured them it was very gentle, and I'm so glad they decided to go through with it, because the two of them screamed and gasped and had the BEST time. Their enjoyment really added to my enjoyment as well.

I HATE the movie screen rides - I get motion sick on them - Give me a roller coaster or any other ride and I am fine :) my daughter really wants to do Sorin this trip and I am not sure I want to waste a Fast Pass on a ride I don't want to do - I don't like Body Wars or Star wars either

What I love is the music to Soarin'!

Even if I'm just listening to it in my car, I simply love the music. The movie part of it is a nice enhancement to the music.

I do like the ride a lot though! :goodvibes

Yes! It's the music that I love too! On our yearly trips, we go on Soarin once, but we don't feel the desire to reride it during the same trip.

DH and I thought the exact same when we rode it on our first trip 2 years ago. After all the hype on the planning dvd and on here, when we rode it we came of thinking 'really, was that it?!?' :confused3

We thought we might have missed something as soooooo many people love it and so we gave it another chance when we went last October but again we were both underwhelmed.

DH says its just sitting in a chair with a air freshener sprayed while watching random movie shots lol,he hates it! I dont dislike it but I don't get the mass hype,I wouldn't personally waste a FP+ on it and definitely wouldn't wait more than 10 mins for a ride but that's just our taste,we much prefer test track at epcot :).

I know that everybody has different tastes and different favorites when it comes to rides, but is there anybody else out there who just doesn't quite get the huge appeal of Soarin? Don't get me wrong, I think the ride is nice and pleasant and all, and if I can get a fast pass and get on in 5 or 10 minutes I think it's great, but I just don't understand it's huge following. It kind of seems like your lifted off the ground and watch a short IMAX movie with some mild wind and aroma effects. Again, I'm not attacking the ride or anything, just trying to figure out what it is about the experience that makes people wait in line for an hour or two.:confused3

If we go to Epcot and don't have a FastPass for Soarin', we don't care. It's just that huge of a deal for us. But if we can get a FastPass or the line is manageable (like, 30-45 minutes) and we have nothing else to do, we'll do it.

To us, it's just a "ride". It's not an attraction. Would I recommend anyone to see it if they haven't already? Yes. But we've seen it several times and it's not something we need to flock to each and every time we are there.

... Finally a post that pulled me out of lurk mode...

Yeah, I was moderately underwhelmed by Soarin' when we rode last year. But, I don't mind that other people like it enough to stand in line for it rather than the other things we're trying to get on/in to. ;)

Have thought the airline theme and its location fairly close to World Showcase absolutely screams for a film that highlights the countries you are about to encounter. Seems like flying over Paris and past the Eiffel Tower, or sweeping past a German castle would enhance the overall experience, and maybe provide a bit of a mental bridge between the two sections of the park.

Six Flags used to have a similar attraction called The Chevy Show (sponsored by Chevrolet) that I loved in the 70's. You just sat in theatre seats, but the sensation was similar. Best part was they changed the film every year :thumbsup2

I like Soarin, but I wouldn't call it a must do.
