I called to book my son and I for August 23rd and the CM said it has only 19 spots and they fill up 6 months out. We are just a party of 2, so she suggested that we stop by and check for no-shows that morning. They do not offer a waitlist.

So, my question is, have you done this and if so, were there any no shows? I am hoping some people just decide they don't want to wake up that early and just no go...since it is free, they are not losing anything.

We went, IMO it isn't worth going and hoping that you may get access. Also, you may need to be on the list for early admission to Epcot.

There were 4 no shows when we went in May. The only issue you would have is getting into Epcot before they open. We needed our confirmation to be let in before the 8:00am tour time.

In this case, perhaps if they charged a $10 pp fee ala ADRs it would be easier to snag a spot.

I'm 0 for 5 in my attempts despite calling @ 8 am sharp the first day available.

We were able to book by calling numerous times.

The tour itself was ok. Not great. Very little behind the scenes of soaring. They start off by Club Cool, go over some history of Epcot, then walk over to the building. Walk output back, explain some mildly interesting trivia and then you ride the ride with the tour guide talking through an ear piece. Glad we did it, but not worth a great deal of effort.

If they had the model that they based it off or went more behind the scenes, it would have been great.

Exactly! Yes we did it in May and just like you said, it could've been better, but we did it.

Hmmph I'm not feeling one bit better missing out lololol

Thanks for that review, first I've seen.

Yes! I agree strongly with this. Way back when "Dining with an Animal Keeper" first began at Sanaa, they weren't charging for no shows. On a, what I believe is, related note, only 4 of the 14 people who'd reserved actually showed up. Fortunately one couple showed up in case there were any "no shows", lucky for them, so there were 6 of us at lunch. Shortly after that, they started charging no-shows.
