Has anyone eaten breakfast at Garden Grill before park opening and then gotten on the Soarin' standby line? Just wondering if it's a good way to save a FP since EPCOT's tier system is kind of dumb.

I have read other people's post about doing this very thing. It seemed to work out for them, although it seemed that they had to rush through their meal in order to be finished when Soarin opened. Personally I wouldn't want to rush a fantastic dining experience at GG just to save a FP. It is also an expensive way to save a FP.

If you will be at Epcot more than once, we ate at gg for dinner and then went on soarin while most were watching the fireworks

Yes, we just did this about two weeks ago. We had an 8:15 ADR but were seated a few minutes before that. We didn't rush through our meal and were leaving the restaurant as the rush of people were entering The Land building. We had about a 10-15 minute wait in the standby line. I'd definitely book a PPO GG ADR again and ride Soarin' standby before lines get too long. We loved GG! It was our favorite meal of the whole trip.

If I wasn't able to split my FP bc of child swap, I would definitely do the ppo ADR at GG. I've heard you can finish the meal in 45 minutes easily. Just ask for the check as soon as you sit down.

I just snagged a ressie at GG for 8:20;going in Nov. Even if we take an hour, thinking stand by should be very doable.

We are doing this in September. We have an 8am reservation so I'm hoping we can beat the rush to Soarin'. Thankfully we are staying at the BC so we won't have to worry about buses.

I did have a 10.25 reservation at GG, my original plan was to do rd get a couple of major rides done while early, then have a leisurely breakfast. However an 8.25 reservation has just opened up for the same day, if we did this we would try and get in a bit earlier then head straight for Soarin. Which reservation should I keep? Which strategy would be better? I want to let the one I don't want go asap so somebody else can have it
