Sadly, DS is a gentle soul and doesn't want to hurt anyone. Plus he is scared of getting in trouble.

There were a number of bullies in his grade at the old school. One particular bully tormented DS for 4 years....until DS couldn't take it anymore. So, he hit the bully. The bully had just gotten a new set of braces and rumour has it that DS hit him so hard that the braces fell out. The kids that saw it thought that DS broke the bully's teeth.
We got called into the office for one of those 'chats'. Not that we advocate violence but I figured that after 4 years, that bully had it coming.

Strangely, DS didn't get bullied for the next 3 months....and then it all started again.

I got teased in primary school but not actively bullied until HS.....unless you include the leacher I had in year 4 who was the definition of a bully...as I wasn't sporty and she was the PE teacher.
I left mid way through the year

It's hard dealing with financial balances especially once you get to an age where you start to understand money more.
I was on a full scholarship to the school I was being mercilessly bullied at (although things started ok...) so didn't speak up for 2 years.

Bullying is something more prevalent in some schools than others...
And I discovered a girl in the year below me...who was also being bullied...changed to the same school


I really hope that DS thrives in his new school

On a related note I wish someone could switch of this 4am internal alarm clock. A 6am one would be useful in part. But never do I need to wake at 4am

Oh, I am sorry, understand when I quit my job I had to get up at 3:30, it took a while for that to stop.

It depends from who's perspective. DS keeps DH running around for half the night. Get me this...get me that....read me this.....can I do this.....straighten my bed....

Me? I tuck DH in bed and leave him there. Then I check in every 30 minutes or so to make sure he's okay. Sadly, that means that DS has to do his own silent reading because I'm not all there to help him.

DH thinks that DS does a better job...but complains that he gets asked to do too much and that DS doesn't leave him alone at all.

Sounds like DH is the victim of his own spoiling of DS.
I was spoiled like my brother but I was also always more capable of looking after myself so would help look after my (older) brother during school hols etc.

Hi All!

I did my duty to my country today and showed up for jury duty!

Thank goodness I didn't get assigned to a trial but it was close....I was number 259 and sat there until 1:30 pm. They called people through #240 to go in for questioning for trials upstairs.

Even though I had my Kindle Fire I was so bored I thought I would go crazy waiting and my office doesn't pay me for being there so the $15 for expenses barely covers my gas and lunch. So I'm in the $$$ negative for doing my duty.

OK, I'm over this!!!

And I just read this weekend that warm milk doesn't help with sleep after all.

Ooops - Just heard DH ring the proverbial dinner bell!
