So You Think You Can Dance starts tonight!! Who's with me?

I am trying to find a dance from Wed. night. The guy auditioned and so did his brother. His brother used a whoopee cushion. He did an old time, Fred Astaire type dance. My son's dance teacher wants him to do a solo like that, and I am trying to show it to him. I saw it and loved it, but I erased it.

My son won't watch the show until they get to Vegas. He hates the bad dancers.

Seriously though, I think Cat is so good. Love her! She can relate to anyone. I just realized that the only reality shows I watch are ones that have great hosts.....they seriously do such a good job!

Tom on DWTS is hilarious (I will totally ignore Samantha )
Ryan on AI is great during the audition rounds and really nice to the contestants (I will ignore his judges banter )
Jeff Probst cracks me up on Survivor (and I love his EW blog) and
Phil is great on AR.

The 17 yr old Blew Me Away!!!! He was awesome. I will certainly be watching for him next season.

The breakdancer dude was odd.. he wasnt all THAT great but I think with some choriography he would be better.. but he killed it for himself

Mr Tattoo artist? Oh yeah, I thought he was worth a trip to choreography and then he goes off on Niles. So not smart.

Unfortunatly I've only caught bits and pieces of the show as it keeps being on when I'm watching my Cavs!

It's hard to really discuss anything here until at least Vegas anyway...but I'm looking forward to a great season!

Loved Nathan, the 17 year old. Can't wait to see him next year. The tattoed break dancer had a bit of an attitude. Made himself look like an idiot and screwed up any chance he could have had.

The brother and sister act was painfully funny. They were really a bit to close for comfort.

We just got into this show last season. Our family loves Mary's screaming and you can tell when she hates a dance....she can't stop giggling.


We have a few favorites already(which usually doesn't happen) and love that a lot of the tappers have made it through...and without going to choreography.

I LOVED him!!! The next season starts in the fall and I guess he'll be 18 by then, because they gave him an automatic ticket to Vegas for the fall season

I love this show! Unlike American Idol where I love a few and can't stand the rest, not a single person has gone through who I didn't like. It's probably because I know nothing about dance so I think they're all amazingly talented

I thought so too...but what is funny is I read an interview that said they weren't going to put as many contemporary dancers through to the Top 20 because they wanted more variety. I wonder if it will be the year of the tapper?

I'm SO SO SO SO MAD about Natalie. They didn't even give her a chance! Nothing. No 'dance for your life' nothing. GRRRRR Unfair. And to boot they gave that awful Gabi Rojas 3 chances after she couldn't even do the hip hop. She totally stunk while people that did the choreography were cut.

And I hate that Mia gets to judge her own dance. If Sonia was allowed to judge hers I'm sure Natalie would have stayed.

I was so mad I almost turned it off. Seriously. They gave her no chance and just cut her when they gave so many inferior people 2nd and 3rd chances. I would be ok with her being cut IF they gave he a chance like they gave so many others.

With Nat - her practice dance in front of Sanja was amazing. Then when she got in front of the judges - she looked flat and off tempo. Weird. Maybe she gets nervous?

There are some amazing dancers left. Can't wait to get to know them better!

We were VERY surprised they cut Nat so abruptly. We just figured we didn't get to see everything she had been doing. I was sad, but there are so many talented dancers this year that I would have a very hard time cutting people.

I'm new to posting world (been lurking for ages)... I hope it's okay if I just stick my nose in. I'm just seeing this thread for the first time. I love SYTCD! Last night though... was infuriating. The inconsistency concerning the decisions made, just made me want to SCREEEAM! Dancer A, B and C that have been iffy time and time again get umpteen chances to impress, ultimately dancing their own genre where of course they'll do well, but Natalie has one slightly rough routine (her worse was still leaps ahead of many they let through!) after days of proving herself as worthy and they boot her? Dumb. My suspicious nature thinks they're setting us up for a.... GASP... "dramatic" callback.

I agree. The Natalie thing was TERRIBLE. She was still leaps and bounds better than half the people they put through. I didn't think Gaby was good at all, even in her solo and I can't believe how many chances she got. I too am wondering if somehow they will call Nat back.

I just don't get that Brandon (??...Natalies friend) at all. He hasn't impressed me at all and he hasn't done much to impress the judges either and yet he is still hanging on. I guess they want to cast a "will" from last season, but I don't get it.

After all the cuts they made last night, I feel like we haven't even "met" the remaining dancers.
The ones they kept interviewing were all cut (Megan, whose sister made it through, Gabi, Priscilla, Bianca etc).. who's even left?

ETA about Natalie, she really was very off when she danced for the judges, but I agree, they should've at least told her to dance for her life.
