So You Think You Can Dance Season 6

Vegas week starts tonight.

I'm excited to see who is there. I saw Megan Kinney go straight though last night. I liked her better than Caitlin so I'm glad she is back. I also saw Paula VanOppen get a ticket in an earlier audition show.

No Natalie Reid. I found her Twitter and she replies to someone that she doesn't plan on auditioning. Bummer.

I watched last night's show ans was thrilled to see my DGD's dance instructor from last year. She was Hailey, the girl who was shown in a back brace. Kady has been watching every week in order to make sure that she saw "Miss Hailey" Hailey graduated from High school last Spring and is a dedicated focused young lady.

We also had another girl from the studio audition but I have not seen her n TV. It is nice to have a bit of a hometown connection.

luvflorida- it was fun reading about your DD's experience. You must be very proud of her!

I really liked the girl in the back brace. She was a really beautiful dancer. She really surprised me for some reason.

Well *I* for one am really bummed that RYAN got cut. And so early! I was really hoping to see him in the top 20. :sad1:

I felt like they used Ryan a little cruelly to amp up the drama, and then didn't even offer him the same opportunity as they did the B-boy to "dance for his life". IMO Ryan performed solidly in the hip hop, stiffly in the cha cha, neither of which is his style. The B-boy was mediocre at best in hip hop -- theoretically his style, and weak in cha cha. Their show, their choice. Thought it was kind of tacky though.

Kinda agree--they even said his cha cha was better than his hip hop. I don't get how he could go all the way last year to the top 20 cut and then get axed so soon. SECOND season they did that since they did it with last year's Natalie (and the choreographer was SHOCKED).

I don't get what goes through their minds sometimes--and then they wonder why they get some group choreography that looks like people are taking a roadside sobriety test instead of dancing.

She is an amazing young lady. She taught Kady last year and she was one tough cookie! No fooling around in her class. I was sad that Kady really hated dance, but if she did not thrive under Miss Hayley she was just not going to thrive. She has a little sister who is my DGD's age and that child takes my breath away!

I was a little surprised with Ryan as well. I think that he was so hyped up in that he would not be able to meet their expectations. I also wonder if he was taken away from practice a lot. Nigel mentioned something about taking up a lot of his time. If that happened it really is a shame, he was used to promote this season starting during the last one.

I have to admit I really enjoyed watching the Krumper and the ballroom dancer! They were such an unlikely pair so seeing them dance was awesome!

...yeah....I told him that I would vote for him, but he already knew that he'd been cut - I feel really terrible about that...:guilty:

I totally missed her. Who was she?

I too am bummed about Ryan being voted out. I'm not sure they used him, his Cha Cha definitely looked awkward. Like Natalie last season, I have to wonder why he didn't get the chance to dance for his life.

I think they kept Ryan last year to hype the drama of the two brothers; otherwise they wouldn't have left the two for last. I think they did something similar to Natalie; she was kept to hype the drama of the two roommates. Although I do have to say that Natalie really wasn't very good on her return.

Ryan is a much better choreographer than he is a dancer (in everything except tap).

I totally missed her. Who was she?

She was in the last tryout show and had a small interview on that show. Her solo and the feedback from the judges was really nice. She was teh girl who could hold a handstand for a long time and flipped upside down while the judges talked to her :cool1:

We never heard if she made it through the Vegas. tryouts and now I cannot wait until next week. I tried to see if she was in the groups but they move to fast for me.

I really find Legacy terribly unlikable. That is all ;)

I think I will have a hard time watching him if he makes it to the top 20.

I LOVED the end of last nights show. Seeing the judges moved to tears over the amazing solos really moved me. Both judges and dancers are so dedicated to their art and get such joy from it - I just find it very inspirational.

The kid that they showed at the end - Billy I think -that had Adam in tears - was just so amazingly beautiful. The way he moved was just breathtaking.

Legacy brought my stoic husband to tears. he was so moved by his emotional breakdown and how he had had an epiphany basically about what dance means to him and opening himself up to new styles. DH talked about it all night!

I hope the crumper makes it, the married couple, the girl with the brown pixie-style hair cut--can't think of her name--she was wearing the white bikini with red flowers during pool time, Bianca----

Those are my faves.

oh and billy too--the one that made the judges cry.

I really like Billy and Paula Van Oppen. I'm really hoping she makes it this season.

I'm starting to like the blonde girl who hurt her ankle. She reminds me of my best friend from HS. She looks very young though so they might cut her.

Does anyone know what happened to Megan Kinney, Caitlin's sister? Was she already cut from Vegas?

I'm really pulling for the krumper too. I find it hard to believe that he has no other training. I think it'll hurt him if he lied about that.

The only one 'featured' so far I don't like is Legacy. I find him about as genuine as a 3-dollar bill. I also don't think his b-boying is that great. I think all the Quest Crew members were better.

She was cut in one of the ealrier rounds. No siblings left. I like the krumper too. He is trying so hard!

Not crazy about the ballroom married couple. I still think she pulls her face around too much. He is trying to be like Dimitri but no where near as handsome.

I swear I remember the crumper telling the judges last week he had trained in just about everything, including ballet? :confused3 My DVR has been down since yesterday afternoon so I couldn't go back to the show & check that out, but my daughter thought the same thing.
