Anyway it's not as bad as it sounds - The pictures are taken and synchronized with an RFID scanner (much like a bar code scanner at a grocery store) as you go by the camera point (or embedded into the ride handles is my guess any further would be too flakey). The photos go to a central database bound to the RFID # that got scanned. If you're the MDE owner of that # you can view those pictures (and specialized video in some cases, generated after the fact like the disney magic photos) and download/purchase them.

It's basically the same as having a keypad in front of you on the ride that you'd punch in your 10 digit number with - except the # is just read off of the band.

Supposedly yes. It should automatically link all your attraction photos to your MB. I didn't put that to the test, though; whenever I saw a ride photo I liked I'd put my MB against the contact point to make sure it linked to my account, the way people with card tickets put their cards on the contact point. I didn't want to have to mess with getting photos I especially liked re-linked in case of computer error.

Yes you can. I still stop and tap my photo because the system isn't flawless and if your ride photos are important it is best to just take the second to tap the right reader.

Thanks. My nerves are less linked to privacy and all that and more about just walking by and doing nothing but trusting the photos will show up. You have helped assuage me and reminded me that I can always double-check to make sure that one I really like shows up.

It's amazing how well it works. Two years ago my mom and daughter were on Splash Mtn when it broke down and they were escorted off the ride (before the drop). Their empty boat coming down the drop showed up in our photos! We still get a kick out of that picture

I always tap out. I've had photos not show up when I didn't, irvive had someone else's photo! So, I tap, just in case.

We got some doubles, but figured it was because the two of us usually rode in the same car.

I asked every time and they wouldn't scan my band, just told me the photos would be there, and they were! I had a few "you sure?" times, but they all showed up without scanning my band on any ride.

Once you get off the ride, there will be a preview area for all the pictures. Underneath the screens will be the Mickey dots that look like the ones used to get through the FastPass line, purchase things with your Magic Band, etc. When yours comes up, just hold your MB up to it, and it'll link to your account.

When we went as a party of 8 just a few years ago, we usually just had one person (if we went as a group) tap for the picture. It should only show up once (or twice, if you tapped too). Hope that helps!

Even if you get the wrong ones attached to your account you can call, tell them about what time, what you were wearing, who was with you and just like magic they put your picture on and take the wrong one off. We had it happen twice and the CM was awesome and even commented on our matching shirts and it made her job easier.

No problem! And something I just thought about too. Since you have so many people, if y'all all ride a ride together, you'll be in different ride cars, so just have someone from each mini group tap for the picture. Like if you have 3 in one Space Mountain car, just have one from that group, and one from another car, etc. It should work pretty well in case someone forgets though!

I'm kind of wondering if photos are linked to linked reservations too. I've had some pictures link to my photo account that I wasn't even around for, but they were of my in-laws or my mom or something. Either way, you should be fine
