So..You can't call anymore and ask if a pin is attached to your name?

I called yesterday to book my Fall trip. I told her I'd like to book with AAA, unless she can tell me if there is a pin attached to my name. She quickly responded that they "could no longer see" the codes. I think this must be the standard line they are trained to say now. She was a bit light on the Pixie Dust so I didn't push it. I hope that general pins come out soon so I can apply one to my ressie.

One thing I thought was odd was her big push for me to purchase the dining plan. She kept going on and on about how much money I'd save. I told her after seeing so many complaints from people during Free Dining not being able to book reservations even at 90 days out, I wasn't interested in the risk of paying for something I couldn't use. Only then did she move on to the next question. :confused3

I called last week to make some changes to our ressie and at the end I asked if she could check under my name and the wifes if there were any pin codes. She politely told me that they no longer have access to the tool where they can just check for a pin code.

I called Friday night and spoke to a really nice guy who looked it up for me no problem. I did have a pin code BUT it expired in March!

I really believe it all depends on who answers the phone.

I have been calling for about a week or more now and only on the first call was I told that there were no PIN codes available. Just got off the phone and was told "I can see....nope."

Although I've gotten a post card or two (none in a long time), I have NEVER gotten and e=mail with a pin code.

I'm really fustrated that it is not more consistant! I have called several times this week and nada! No one is "able to do that anymore." Ill keep trying. (maybe with a little pixie dust......)

I just called the general information # and talked with someone, said a friend was receiving offers but I had not, had been there before, could not understand ...etc, he explained how it all worked and when I asked if he could check if I was in their system with the right address and email he was more than helpful, told me there had been mailings and did correct the information as they did not have my email only my address, so this may be a way to get the information you are looking for, never hurts to try

I called this morning to check if there were codes/pins attached to my name and the lady I spoke with said they no longer show up like that. :confused3 That they are by email and mail only. That they used to be able to check to see if any were attached to your name but no longer can do that. :confused3

I just called to ask for a quote. I asked if there was a AAA rate (no) and then I asked if a pin code was attached to my name....no. She just said it like that, there was no way she could have checked to see.

Just got off the phone with a wonderful CM - she did look to see if any codes were attached to anyone in our household but there were none. I then asked her to check to see if there was a code for our cousin who traveled with us last year - there was, but it had expired on the 6th  She did say that codes for November would be out in July.

that's kinda strange too as the pin codes we got a couple weeks ago( we got 3 of them at 3 different email addresses:confused3) were good for dates thru Dec 19

I just called a few minutes ago and the very helpful CM looked up my name and address for a pin and I had one....Free Dining for 8/23 - 12/17... I was so excited I was going to pee my pants..:rotfl2: She very kindly gave me my pin# so that I could call back with a specific date...:woohoo:

Moral of the story....keep calling until someone will look it up for you!

I too just called for my first time and was able to have the CM look up a pin for me. The sad thing is both had already expired, one was just by June 6th. I knew I had one as I got my first email with a pin after I ordered the vacation DVD. but I had to book it for a trip by Dec. ? I am pregnant and will not be due until mid Nov. So I figured we wouldn't go. But after much thought I figured maybe we should try for Dec. instead while I was still on maternity leave. Oh well maybe I will get a new offer soon?:confused3

I guess the CM I spoke to didn't know what she was talking about. Obviously you can still check to see if a code is attached. I will try again.

So...do you think they were told "Do not look up pins anymore', or that the system won't show them the codes anymore, unless you initiate it? Seems to me that if you got an email with a code, they would have to verify it somehow, so therefore it would be in the system somewhere...I've gotten "Sorry, we're not ALLOWED to do that anymore, Sorry, that doesn't show up anymore, and Sorry the only way I can tell you if you have a code, is if you tell me your name and pin."
I hate that, and in some ways, I must admit I'm a little intimidated calling them. One, I really don't want to 'bother' them, Two, realizing that I may take up too much of their time by asking, and Three, it's just not fun for the rejection..lol...
So are you all just going to 'keep trying' or do we 'throw in the towel and hope for a special code?

Still hoping for that Pixie Dust:)

I think they have been told not to look them up; I know they can.

I just called, hoping that my husband had a different pin than I have. At first, she told me she couldn't look it up. Then, I told her that I had received a pin on Monday (I got room only discount in Aug/Sept), but I was hoping my husband had a different code. I told the CM that I couldn't give her my pin number because I couldn't access my email (this is the truth--I am visiting my parents and I can't access my Yahoo account for some reason).

She looked up the pin based on my address and phone number. My husband did not have a different code. She said members of the same household get the same deal. I was so hoping for free dining in December!

Anyway, I know they are able to look it up, but I think they have been told not to look them up when someone calls and asks them to.

I called yesterday and was able to have her look it up for me. No pin though.

I don't know who at Disney made the decision to forbid the CMs to tell us. It just doesn't make sense. I mean, Disney sends us these emails and postcards so they must originally have wanted us to have them. Then, half the time something goes wrong in the sending and receiving and we don't get them and then we have to sound like Oliver Twist asking for more gruel begging to see if we have a code and then being turned away like wayward children. I was fortunate to have a CM who originally said he was not supposed to tell me, then said if he knew the travel dates I was considering he could tell me if my codes matched or not, then finally actually gave me my pin code. He said he might lose his job but he didn't care. He was so nice and I really hadn't pushed him at all but I think he felt it was wrong that there were pin codes for people and they weren't allowed to tell us. I mean, what an awkward position to put these CMs in.

I booked a trip using the pin code (kids play and stay free) and so my kids do get free park tickets and food so I am saving about $600 in that way, but... my sister and I are buying park tickets, probably adding hoppers to everyone's and paying rack rate for the room plus of course we are paying for dining for the two adults and my sister is ordering the $100 photopass thing. So... all told Disney will be getting almost $2000 for two adults and two kids staying at a value. A decent deal for them and a decent deal for us. Why would they not have wanted us to have the code?

I suppose it's the "wasted" time for people calling and they don't have codes but how the heck are we supposed to know. What would make sense is if they had a central website where we could plug in our name and address and see if we had a code. That would be nearly costless for them to do.

Ahhhh, felt so good to get that out ;)

I called the Grand gathering dept. yesterday to see if we had a pin code attached (was hoping for a free dining).

The CM couldn't understand why I was calling even though I thought I clearly explained it to her?

She did at one point say they (codes) were emailed/mailed out and insinuated that she did not/could not look.

I didn't have one though. :(

The PIN Codes must be visible to the CMs though because when I called Disney to say that I had gotten a PIN for free dining and wanted to change my reservation the CM never asked for the code. She said that she saw it and promptly changed my reservation to take advantage of it.

I called last week and was told my pin offers had been mailed earlier this year and had expired, they corrected my email address in the system and I got an email pin the next day for 40% off thur 10/1, I am already booked in Nov/Dec so this didn't help me, I applied for a Disney Visa and got the card Saturday and called to change my deposit to my new card and was told I did have a pin for free dining during my stay :cool1: never got an email so have no idea where this came from but don't really care it just saved me a lot of money... so my suggestion keep calling it never hurts to ask, the worst they can say is no and then you can call again :rotfl2:.

It seems like it totally depends on what CM you get. I called for a client the other day, to update a current ressie she had with a new pin she had gotten. I asked if there were any other codes associated with her name, and the CM told me "We can't do that anymore." I was hoping for maybe the 40% code, but was happy the free dining code they got was able to save them an additional $600.
