I feel your pain about getting decent price for your airline flights. We had decided to drive also for our trip the end of Nov.Then something great happened, there is a small airport 5 mins away and was difficult to use because it was expensive. They finally listened to all the complaints and now a new airline will be coming to the valley Nov 20 and its nonstop to orlando only with cheap rates. We will be flying to orlando Nov 22 for $98 down and $68 coming back. The rates go up and down but still cheaper than Dullas where we use to fly out of that is 2 hours away. So I do hope you will get to go on your trip, you can make it work.

Have you booked anything yet? If not, have you looked at airfare during President's Week? We went then in 2008 and did O.K. on airfare by leaving on the Monday and flying back the following Tuesday. (DS and I missed only 2 days of work/school.)

Just want to mention--we flew Jet Blue out of Newark back in June and loved it! Brand spanking new plane. Got a great fare ($95 each way) and free carry-on luggage. They have free DirectTv on board too--just bring your own standard ear-plugs (or buds).

Kimmie, we are headed back that way to stay in the GF during those nights, I may be able to coordinate something with you so that you may get 40% off I need to check on some things just to be sure If not the GF it would be the BC or YC I'll let you know ASAP as to not leave you hanging

I feel the same way. We have a trip booked for January but I really think I'm going to cancel it if the airfare prices don't come down. We can only travel in January due to DD's college break and the airfare is almost as much as the package. So...I can't get excited or even look forward to the trip when I know it is likely we won't be going.

AP rates are 30% off at AKL through 12/24 (I assume check-ins). Since rates were over $500 per night, 30% off is a huge chunk of change and may be worth paying extra for one annual pass.

$495/std room - 12/23 - 12/28

Total(room only) $3,581.00

If I add on three 5-day base passes, it's an added total of $856.26, but I could get them at "UT" for $841.95 for 6-day base passes (or 5-day base passes for $808.08)! I still have to add on airfare and food.... *sigh*

Kimmar, May I say that your threads are often really funny, you have a great sense of humor. Right now, though, I can't figure out why you're not happy and excited about planning a trip. What can we do to turn that frown, upside down?
Is there something that will help get you in a happy Florida frame of mind?
