No fair deleting ghost stories and pictures, before I've had a chance to read and see! I love reading this stuff! I stayed up till 3 a.m. the other night reading an old ghost story thread on here, and I finally had to go to sleep with the light on!!! And I'm 41 years old!

Seriously, who cares if anyone else believes your story? People have always picked and chosen their tales in which to believe. That's why we have so darned many religions and cults!

I absolutely have different interpretations than my friends have for these experiences. I don't call them liars, but neither do I say, yes, you are right, it must be ghosts.

Well I probably wouldn't jump to that conclusion, either. I'd want to explore all possibilities. But if it came down to my friend really believing a certain way, then I wouldn't doubt them; I would respect their opinion. My closest friends are my closest friends for a reason.

My step mother went through some mumbo jumbo with some religious folks at her hospital the last time she had a hip replacement. It involved chanting and waving around some sort of "healing" pendant. and somebody giving her "healing touch." It made her feel better, and she desperately wants me to believe in her religion, so she keeps trotting this out as "proof." I'm not a believer. I do believe she felt better, but I think that's a psychological thing.

It is awkward. I absolutely don't believe any magic occurred, but it's nice she made herself feel better. I don't call her a liar, but neither do I tell her that I believe in her explanation, nor am I going to pretend to.

As a Reiki practitioner myself I do believe in the power of healing touch as well. It is becoming mainstream and patients are both requesting it and benefitting from it. Even traditionalists like the folks at Harvard Medical School are now embracing it. As a patient, if you don't want any part of it, that's up to you. And if you don't believe in its benefit, well that's your prerogative. But it doesn't mean that you're right and she's wrong. It sounds like she's got an open mind about it, which is great. (Religious disagreements you may have with her notwithstanding.)

People are entitled to whatever opinions they want to have, my friends included. But that doesn't mean I have to agree with them, nor should I have to pretend to. There is such a thing as agreeing to disagree, and it doesn't make me a terrible friend because I don't believe in something illogical and scientifically unsupported, as in the case of ghosts.

You are making an assumption that the placebo effect is the only thing at play here, no?

The film was stuck someplace where the cat found it. There is absolutely nothing in your story that makes it more likely that this whole imaginary universe exists or that dead people came back than that the film was wedged in someplace you didn't notice.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. There is never anything approaching extraordinary evidence in any of these situations.

not possible.
dresser was tight against floor & wall. it was a solid 'block'. there were no nooks or crannys for something to hide.
that dresser had been taken apart several times & moved.only things left in it several months before were misc, clothing.
when she died it was thorougly taken apart & inspected, ......just ...in...case...... of anything hidden.
it was the only thing she had left she owned. & left in the room she died in.

One kind of weird story is from my wedding day.

My husband and I got married in our living room, in a very small ceremony.

In our living room, there is a set of three lights on a track. The middle light has never worked, except for once. Our wedding day, during our wedding ceremony.

This light didn't work before the ceremony (we tried changing the bulb to no avail), and it has never worked after.

Probably just a short in the light. We should probably call an electrician . However, I like to think we had "visitors" for our wedding. Maybe my grandparents that have passed away, or my husbands grandparents? The light was their way of letting us know they were with us...

The mist /fog doesn't look normal, in the first one maybe it' s just the way it is formed, or maybe it's me that see's it a certain way, but I see a face eyebrows and it looks sad.

Oh that's okay, I don't think I was very clear when i posted. I remember saying it was passed through family, but I didn't add that was before we moved in.

It's really just the first picture (ie yellow) that appears to show a face in the mist. To me, the photographer, it looks like a young boy who's frightened - you can see the face, eyes, nose, eyebrow, hairline, even chin line. The "face", which is to the right of the waterfall, is about half the size of it. I was surprised to see it after I got home and looked at the pictures. I posted the other pictures at someone's request just to show that those had nothing. My camera was set up on a tripod.
