I always get gypped on my stocking at Christmas. I buy stocking stuffers for everyone else (excuse me, I mean SANTA fills all the other stockings!) but end up buying my own goodies because no one else does it.

I'm not upset about it--buying my own ensures that I get some great stuff that I really need or want. And it's been happening my whole adult life so I'm used to it. :teeth: I think if I mentioned it to DH, he'd go ahead and do it but he's a bit impared in his gift giving abilities so I don't like to push anymore than regular gifts. He does a good job with those because I give him a list that he's free to pick and choose from--he's also free to deviate from that list if the impulse should strike him.

I was curious, though, who gets the stocking goodies at YOUR house? Do you fill your own stocking?

What do you mean? Santa fills the stockings! :)

:earsboy:

I get two stockings. One from my parents and the other from my fiancee`.

DH and I fill each other's with lame things like shampoo, soap and chewing gum. It gives us something to open with the kids but we're cheap and don't like spending money on ourselves.

DH fills my stocking. I fill everyone elses. It never fails that DH puts hooker red nail polish and lipstick in my stocking EVERY year. I have a stockpile of that stuff. If anyone is in need of hooker red please let me know!

I fill up everyone's at home, even DH's, but I have never had mine filled. I wish just once that someone would realize that I con't get anything in mine. Maybe I haven't been a good girl for Santa.

I haven't had a stocking in years. But DD is getting one this year, and so I'm taking the opportunity to buy me and DH one too...I can already picture his thrilled face when I tell him he has to fill it...:teeth: ;)

Mine usually hangs there empty. I used to fill up DHs but felt bad that my was always empty. Now I just fill up DD11 and our three cats. DD24 was given her stocking from when she was small. Not sure if she fills it up or not.

Do you mean everyone has a stocking filled with stuff on Christmas morning, but you just get an empty stocking? That makes me sad and mad, but I can't find the sad or mad smilie.

This is sad, too. If I lived nearby I would come and fill up your stocking!!

I always fill mine also. For a while I would put something in DH, but the kids were catching on and wondering why Santa didn't fill mine. So now I put a little something in there. Usually some socks or something. You'd think DH would get the hint! :confused3

we are always at one of our parents' houses, so the parents do.

We spend Christmas Eve at my mom's house. It's usually me and DH and Paul, my sister and her DH, my brother and his wife and now their baby, and my mom and her husband. Everybody contributes to everyone else's stocking. We always get tons of fun stuff. Stockings are my favorite part of Christmas. I LOVE finding neat things to stuff them with, and I love getting mine! We're usually at Disney in early December so I love getting things like Disney pens and magnets, character cookies, etc. for everyone's stockings! We take turns stuffing them right before bed. The rule is you can put things in everyone else's - but you can't peek in yours! Then we enjoy them all on Christmas morning after the big presents.

Of course, Paul thinks that Santa fills them all! ;)

I get 2: one from DH and one from Dad. My dad and I do an interesting stocking exchange every year. We collect as much free stuff as we can throughout the year and then use the freebies to fill the stockings. It's amazing all of the free stuff you can collect. This year my dad will be receiving in his stocking: a VCR/DVD combo, a shower head that supposedly gives you more water pressure, a dog leash that lights up, champagne glasses, plus tons of free note pads from the real estate agent who constantly leaves them on our door as advertising. I also got some nail polish and leave-in hair conditioner, but I am going to keep them.

Mine hangs pitifully empty every year. This year will be different though. I told my husband we are not doing gifts for each other (we really need a new computer at home so I'd rather we save for that) so we will just do stockings. Of course, I have to leave him a list of what I want in mine, but I will actually have something in it this year :goodvibes

My sons have filled mine ever since their father left. They really surprised me by doing this that first Christmas and have kept it up ever since.

I'm a proud mom.
