So where's the doctor?

Drove my son to urgent care b/c he was tugging at his ear and screaming like mad--had a double ear infection.

The urgent care is a few buildings down from my primary care. Only--my doc's name is no longer on the sign. Where'd he go?

I don't need him at the moment, but I'll need to fetch my records and the girls records for when we move. I will have to track him down tomorrow.

But it would have been nice if they--I don't know, sent a letter or something.

That seems odd. Do you go to the practice or him? I'd think the practice still has your records even if he left.

I just got a letter from my OB telling me that they are no longer doing OB patients.

Maybe he left and they didn't want him to "steal" his own patients from their practice...
Happens all the time, if a practitioner decides to leave and the practice doesn't him/her to tell anyone..

My pediatrician's entire practice (5 docs together) moved, but they told us about it months before it happened. They were so excited to move to a larger office, and it was big enough to have separate sick and well waiting. Where they had been was just one waiting room. They did say it was a HUGE pain to pack up all the office contents to move them, though.

I hope you can find your doctor easily. Hopefully the phone number you had will still work.

You might be able to find out where your doctor went by calling your insurance company. If he's still in practice he would need to give new location to insurancecompanies.
