..threads that have been resurrected here lately? It seems to be a lot of old debate type topics are being brought forward from the basement to be rehashed. What is with that?

Dunno if that's a rhetorical question, but I'd wager that we have reoccuring hot topics that are usually variations on the same themes: smoking, ROFR, waitlists, who's resort is the best, long BWV halls, bus service, bugs, why don't we get discounts or more perks, pool hopping, snotty CMs, room occupancy, etc. Maybe it's easier to resurrect an old thread than to come up with a creative tweak for a new one.

And here's something else - for habitual posters, I can tell you what their replies will be on a given subject before reading them. That's not necessarily a bad thing, 'cause we are who we are.

There's nothing new under the sun, I reckon.

It just seemed odd to me that all of a sudden I have seen so many. I haven't been around much lately (trying to get the new house finished), but I have run into quite a few when I have been on.

I asked the same question when the "renters hurting us" thread reappeared. A Mod explained that when a similar thread is posted, they will now link them to an old thread....... why have two threads with the same topic.

The threads lose continuity when lumped together. You also have to hunt to find any unread postings on the "lumped threads".

I'm glad you asked, Diane. I wondered, too, why such old threads were bumped up.

You may be referring to This Thread which was designed by the mods and webmasters after the demise of the Debate Board.

We tried to find a way to allow some previously forbidden debate topics here on the DVC Board, of course keeping them subject to DIS Posting Guidelines.

Thus far, it has worked for those who want to participate. For those who do not, they may simply avoid the threads as always.

Diane, I've been away from the DIS boards for a while (busy settling in to Arizona) and the first thing that caught my eye was "Refillable Mugs"! Reduce, Recycle, Reuse?

Me too Dr. Tomorrow. That and valet parking. Of course you could keep your old parking stubs in your refillable mug and bring them out for each trip.;) Reduce, Recycle, Reuse.;)

Some of the time it is a new member preparing for a trip- looking for information -and sometimes it is..........................?
