So what happens when we get close to 2040 or 2050+ when ownership runs out?

I have thought about this often (in an investment sort of way). Usually, since I plan to keep it forever, I think that I just won't care because I actually WILL be old (not 61) but 95. In the investment sort of way I think when would be the best time to sell after I get many years of use??? Will it be too late when we are 20 years away?

I will just repurchase a another DVC membership in 2054 at the newly opened Andromeda Resort at Walt Disney Universe on the moon for $2043/point with the incentive of a large coke from any counter food service at my next WDU visit. Of course the end date will still be only 50 years away in 2104, but that won't matter to me. :earboy2:

61 is just early middle age. Btw, by 2042 or 52, points will probably be $1,500 each.

Okay show of hands...how many think 61 is old? Just curious.

Well I'll be 59 in a few months, but I don't feel any different from when I was 24!

I still enjoy Disney, though I expect I will expire before my DVC membership.

Of more concern for me, is the increasing cost of travel to Orlando. I expect the cost of aviation fuel and hence airline tickets, to increase dramatically every year from now on.

possibly... but I just booked my second trip of the year (from the Tri-Cities, TN) with plane tickets through Delta of about $170 round trip. Anything under $200 I consider very good.

Forget the points… I want to know if they will still give me free soda in my “refillable” mug!

I'll be ninety something so I don't think I'll remember I won't have any points left!

Ya - I never thought about the memory thing. Do you think we'll screw up our banking deadlines??

What time of year do you usually visit? This May we spent less on 4 plane tickets and a rental car than we did on 3 tickets last March. The cost really drops during the slower times, at least in some areas.

londonderrydisneyfan, would that be Londonderry,OH as in Ross county?

My kids will be fifty, grandkids (God willing) somewhere in their twenties (on average), we'll be around 80! I'm thinking chances are good my DVC will outlive me! I plan to enjoy every minute til then!
