Remember before POP opened the folks that were upset about how ugly the resort was? So what happened to all the POP critics? I haven't heard anyone mention how garish the resort is like they did before it opened.

I always thought the resort was a great idea with the theming.

Funny you should post this because I was just recently thinking the same thing. Opinions do change I suppose! Its nice to see Pop getting such positive (for the most part) reviews now! I can't wait to see for myself in June!

thats because *I* eliminated them.... just now I found a new person that doesnt like pop in an other message.. must eliminate.... :earseek:

:p

We had friends visit us at WDW this past Dec and we booked them a room at POP. Quite honestly I thought it was kind of ugly. I am not a fan of All Star Resorts either. No offence to those who love it, that is why Disney builds so many different resorts with different themes. Right? :wave2:

I think the biggest gripe were those awful HUGE words on the buildings.
If I visit there, I just don't look up. :rotfl: :sad2:

I wasn't impressed with the words all over the tops of the buildings, but we only went there to change busses, and I didn't actually see the resort, only what I could see pulling in and at the bus stop, so we have to go this fall and see if it's ugly or not!

I admit it. I think it's ugly. :duck:

We stayed there a few days on our last trip. I just didn't like the colors or decor at all. Sorry!

There were some really nice things about it overall, but I still thought the design was ugly. I'm not crazy about the decor at any of the All Stars. I like Movies best of the four, though.

Here I am, here I am!!!

Count me as a anti-POP person. The place just doesn't do anything for me, same goes for the any of the All-Stars.

Just not a big fan of those garish places.

Others find POP and AS fantastic, and that's totally fine. Like a previous poster said, that's why Disney has created different resorts.

I still think it is ugly. Although the interior of the lobby is okay.

I was one of those that thought the words on the top of the building were garish but after staying there last summer I love this resort. I'm still not a big fan of the words but they do fit in with the pop culture theme.

I love it. Did from the begining and still do. Judging by how many stay there...a bunch of people must like it LOL!

Stayed there in Feb. HATED it! I am a SPOILED ROTTEN PRINCESS princess: who just couldn't get into it!
We were in the 80's, felt like we were in Georgia, it was a LONG walk to everything! The only time I thought the grounds were nice was at night. You couldn't really see the "words" on th eupper levels.
Sorry just opinion!

Count me in as a Pop lover. I like bold, over the top colors and themes. Everyone is diffently different. There are deluxes I wouldn't stay at for the same price.

Thanks everyone. I remember the discussions and people hoping that they would change it. I always enjoy visiting the resort and the blast to the past. :)

I will still say it is horrible looking!! I STILL think Walt would roll over in his grave over this one!! He bought all the land in Florida to keep his resort away from the tacky hotels that surrounded Disneyland.
Jmho!! ;)

It was okay. My kids really didn't get into it though. I still prefer the ASMO of the values.

we *loved* pop... enough that my kids are begging to go back and stay there... tried talking them into PO but no-go... wanna go back to pop... and i don't mind it a bit... i like the kitschy look!

I guess what is the point of those who think that PoP is ugly just posting that over and over - especially on threads where folks are excited to be going there? None of the values appeal to me at all but I think it would put a damper on someone's enthusiasm for their vacation if I just posted how unappealing those resorts are to me! That is just a matter of taste (and maybe budget)....I'm sure some folks don't like the hotels that appeal to me most either. :3dglasses
