"So what do you want to do next?" An April '10 TR...final thoughts 8/2 p. 63

Those pesky birds are the main reason that I haven't ever tried Flame Tree - if people would just STOP feeding them the problem would resolve itself!

I got my dh over to the Flights of Wonder Show, but when he found out that it was an actual bird show, he asked if we could leave, he doesn't like the birds flying around. The zoo in Milwaukee freaked him out, when you walk in the bird house, with all the birds flying.:rotfl:

When we told her we were from Wisconsin she asked if we were cheeseheads. I guess that is what everyone thinks of when they hear Wisconsin! LOL
Ug, I don't even want to admit I am from Wisconsin anymore. I am so tired of hearing that.

This day showed us once again that AK is a great late afternoon park. Because there aren't that many attractions and shows a lot of people who come in the morning leave after the parade. And, because there is no evening show or fireworks, people don't come there late in the day, especially when ALL of the other parks have late entertainment and later hours.

If we had been so inclined, we probably could have ridden Everest continuously for as long as we wanted because there was nobody in the single riders line. But, we usually don't like doing the same thrill ride multiple times in a row like a lot of people do. Once a day is usually enough for me, or maybe twice separated by a couple of hours.

As Sarah said, because we had been up so early to catch the plane we didn't want to overdo it the first day. Besides, I wanted to make sure our bags arrived at the AK so we would have some time to chase them down if there was a problem. Happily, they were waiting for us when we got back to the room, so we unpacked and settled in for the evening.

Great update! I've never seen the Flights of Wonder show either. Maybe I'll try to work it in next trip. My youngest is JJ and he would get a big kick out of a bird by the same name.

FYI on the Baseball Mickey's. I ordered at Nationals one on MLB.com and they sent me an e-mail saying they weren't yet in stock. So it was more like a pre-order they would send out when they received them. I'll try to remember and let you know when I finally get it.

Great pictures of Flights of Wonder!:thumbsup2 We've never seen the show...Nick doesn't really like birds.:confused3 That's probably one of the reasons we haven't went back to Flame Tree Barbecue again either.:rolleyes1 Hmm....maybe we can talk him into the show next time! It looks like it would be fun!:goodvibes

YAY! for being able to ride EE!!:yay: But...sorry Dinosaur kept breaking down.:sad2:

Can't wait to hear about your EMH at Magic Kingdom!!popcorn::

Oh my goodness! I'm pretty sure that seeing that Flights of Wonder Show would scar me for life. I have a huge, horrible, terrible fear of birds. Especially birds that are tall-ish and have those long stick legs that bend funny. :scared: Just writing this is creeping me out.

To go along with your story about Disney birds begging for food- that, combined with my fear of birds is a horrible combination. The CS restaurant in Mexico used to be swamped with those awful big white birds. They would just come right up to you. It's like, I'm sorry birds, I don't know you, so GET AWAY FROM ME!! Ugh. Those things are awful.

Nice update. That's awesome that you got such a short wait for Everest, but also a bit of a bummer about Dinosaur. You have to take the good and the bad, I guess.

Flame Tree does have some fantastic views, doesn't it? Love the pic of Everest you got from there.

We never have made it to the Flights of Wonder thing. That's cool about the bird who had the toy lizard in his mouth. Except I wouldn't want to see it do that to a real lizard.

Yes, EE! Yeah-can you believe how quick the single rider line is?! We used to do that when EE first opened up. But, now we just use FP's so we can sit together.

Ugh, Dinosaur was having tech.difficulties when we were there too! Of course you're a cheesehead! :)

We have plans to check Flights of Wonder some time soon. It's one of those things that you pass by and say next time. It sounds pretty interesting from your report though.

The day sounded wonderful! Sucks to hear about the difficulties with Dinosaur though.

I liked the fact about the bird smacking the lizard to tenderize the meat!

Ooo, the shot of Expedition Everest is great because the trees and foliage frame it just right!

AK will be Weird and my list when we go for our future Disneymoon. I'm sure it'll be much more fun exploring it with him at our own pace!

I thought that was really interesting too.

haha, thanks, that is what I was trying to do actually!

That sounds like a good plan. I love AK.

What a bummer about Dinosaur. It's one of my favorites. I hope you get to ride it at some point in your trip!

I have never see Flights of Wonder. It seems cool, I'll have to try to fit it in!

Stay tuned to see if we got on Dinosaur at another time...

Yes, definitely check it out!

Great update! Flights of wonder seems cool...I might brave it. Birds in general don't bother me but I'm not a fan of owls. They kinda freak me out with the whole turning of the head thing and their big eyes! LOL!

You got a great picture of Everest! That was smart to do the single rider line.

I know just how EARLY those EMH at MK were! Can't wait to read more!!:goodvibes

LOL! Yeah, he was kinda creepy when he was sitting on the perch in the way back.

We recently started trying single riders and it's awesome if you don't really mind if you don't get to ride together. Though usually we end up in the same ride vehicle just different rows. :rotfl:

My mom saw the Flights of Wonder show last trip and said it was really neat. I'm not a big fan of birds, but I've heard such great things that I'll give it a try! That's great that your wait for Everest was so short. I will probably use the single rider line myself because my mom doesn't ride roller coasters. That's too bad about Dinosaur but I HATE that ride. I just can't deal with it-too much going on and I don't like things jumping out at me/loud noises. I'm really excited to try Flame Tree, but I'm not looking forward to being pestered by the wildlife. We don't watch Idol, but we do watch GLEE. The first Tuesday we're there we should be able to catch it because we have dinner at Ohana at 5, then we want to look around the Grand Floridian, and we should be back in time. The second Tuesday won't work because we'll be watching Fantasmic! at the same time.

Oooh morning extra magic hours-something we avoid like the plague. :rotfl:

Oooh, I watch Glee too! I am addicted to all of the music lately. I feel like I've been listening to it nonstop! It's so catchy. Even my dad likes watching the show now for the music.

LOL, really? We love EMH. We always get to do a lot of stuff in a short amount of time. We'd usually rather be up early than stay out late so it works for us!

Those pesky birds are the main reason that I haven't ever tried Flame Tree - if people would just STOP feeding them the problem would resolve itself!

Grrr, I know.

I got my dh over to the Flights of Wonder Show, but when he found out that it was an actual bird show, he asked if we could leave, he doesn't like the birds flying around. The zoo in Milwaukee freaked him out, when you walk in the bird house, with all the birds flying.:rotfl:

LOL! I just remember going to the bird show at the zoo a loooong time ago and being really scared because one of the birds flew right up by us. Needless to say we left right after that. I really liked FOW though.

I don't think I could handle EE a lot of times in a row. Twice is enough for me.

Great update! I've never seen the Flights of Wonder show either. Maybe I'll try to work it in next trip. My youngest is JJ and he would get a big kick out of a bird by the same name.

Thanks for the info on the baseball Mickeys. Maybe I should hold off then and just wait a couple weeks.

YAY! for being able to ride EE!!:yay: But...sorry Dinosaur kept breaking down.:sad2:

Can't wait to hear about your EMH at Magic Kingdom!!popcorn::

It really wasn't all that scary. There were only a couple birds that flew out into the audience...one was to a volunteer and then the owl.

It did stink about Dinosaur but hey, it happens.

I hope to have another update tomorrow...sadly I have to work tonight. :guilty:

Oh my goodness! I'm pretty sure that seeing that Flights of Wonder Show would scar me for life. I have a huge, horrible, terrible fear of birds. Especially birds that are tall-ish and have those long stick legs that bend funny. :scared: Just writing this is creeping me out.

haha, when we were there in August we ate at Pizzafari and sat outside and had one of those huge birds come up to our table. My sister was so freaked out (actually I kind of was too). It's just annoying!

Nice update. That's awesome that you got such a short wait for Everest, but also a bit of a bummer about Dinosaur. You have to take the good and the bad, I guess.

Flame Tree does have some fantastic views, doesn't it? Love the pic of Everest you got from there.

That is so true!

I always like looking for different views of the parks too...like I said, we had never eaten there before so I had never seen EE from there.

We never have made it to the Flights of Wonder thing. That's cool about the bird who had the toy lizard in his mouth. Except I wouldn't want to see it do that to a real lizard.

LOL, eww, that would be so gross.

We were really surprised the single rider line was so quick.

That is why I said yes when they asked if we were cheeseheads. ;) Though usually I associate being a cheesehead with being a Packers fan and not just coming from WI.

We have plans to check Flights of Wonder some time soon. It's one of those things that you pass by and say next time. It sounds pretty interesting from your report though.

The day sounded wonderful! Sucks to hear about the difficulties with Dinosaur though.

Exactly! You guys will really like the show. :thumbsup2

We did have a great start to our trip.

Sounds like you've made it off to a good start! :thumbsup2

We sure did!

The music is really catchy! I downloaded three songs from the Madonna episode and I've been listening to it nonstop since then, plus I have various other songs from the other episodes. My mom got hooked on it too, she loves Sue.

We avoid EMH because it increases the crowds (well, that's what every guidebook ever says) and we don't have park hoppers. We plan to be at rope drop most days, and the few that we aren't are because we don't really need to be. We'll have plenty of time to do everything we want to. Last time we only went to EMH once, and it was night time at DHS. We really only rode two things during it, so I'm not really feeling the need to use them. I admire you for being able to wake up early enough to get to them though! :goodvibes

Ok Sarah, any more updates where you talk about birds that much and I refuse to read anymore of your TR :rotfl2: I am so scared of birds I had to fast scroll through the Flights of Wonder pictures...and I guess I won't be eating at Flame Tree anytime soon! :headache:

Glad you did enjoy the FoW show...so great that you got to ride EE too on your first day! :thumbsup2

So who are your favorites on Idol?? Chris and I have been trying to watch...we like Siobhan (even though shes weird), Crystal (we call her C Sox haha) and Lee.

Wait a minute... you're not all cheeseheads?!

Still debating on Flights of Wonder.... it looks pretty cool but I think the birds would freak Ariana and probably Demetri out. OK, maybe me a little bit too. I'm not a super huge fan and would probably spend the 40 minutes doing other things. But then I swing back the other way and think I just might try it. :rotfl:

Flame Tree... I really wanted to give that place a shot but I have no desire to eat with birds. It's not just you... I realllllly don't like it when people feed them.... it's just yucky.

Another Glee fan here!!! :thumbsup2 The Madonna episode was awesome.... I loved Sue's Vogue video and the 4 Minutes cheer! :happytv:

It was fun running into you at the Brewers game, and I will let you know when we are going to go again on a weekend. I have been to 5 home games this year already, so I am there a lot.:rotfl:

You were my first random DIS meet, although I did run into Deb Koma from allears at MK/Buzz ride. You always seem so upbeat and positive in your TR so I knew you would be happy to say hello.

I love the picture of the bald eagle, such a beautiful bird. I am a little freaked out by flying birds, so I have avoided that show. Maybe I can overcome my fears. What a great picture of EE from Flame tree, sounds like you enjoyed your afternoon at AK. I love Single rider lines too.:cool1:

Great update, Sarah! We saw the FoW show last May for the first time. Just like you said, it was entertaining and very educational. :thumbsup2

That is too funny that you left the park and headed back so you could watch AI. I had forgotten that you are a total AI addict! :rotfl:

haha, me too! I have a bunch from the first part of the season too. The girl who plays Rachel is amazing. Actually they are all pretty good. My sister and I get a kick out of Sue too. Some of her lines are great. One of my favorites is from the episode with sectionals (the last one before the summer break) where she is like "You are about to board the Sue Sylvester Express...Destination? HORROR!" :lmao::lmao: I of course had to buy the DVDs so my sister and I had fun watching some of those last weekend. :thumbsup2

If we are not going to be there right away for EMH then we will avoid that park. Like the time we stayed offsite I'm pretty sure there were some EMH but since we weren't resort guests that time and couldn't get in we stayed away.

LOL, sorry Kristen! I think that is all of my bird encounters right there unless you count Donald Duck.

My favorite this season is DEFINITELY Lee! OMG I love him. I kind of liked Katie and I have to admit I kind of like Aaron too. :rolleyes1 I hear he was a contestant at the American Idol Experience!:eek::eek:

Wait a minute... you're not all cheeseheads?!

Well we are cheeseheads but mostly just because we're Packer fans. hehe

The show is only about 20 minutes so it's not too bad. I can understand though how it would freak people out.

Not only is it gross but it's not good for the birds either!

I am not a huge Madonna fan but I really enjoyed last week's episode. Can't wait for tomorrow. AI and Glee. :woohoo::woohoo:

It was fun running into you at the Brewers game, and I will let you know when we are going to go again on a weekend. I have been to 5 home games this year already, so I am there a lot.:rotfl:

Wow, that is a lot!

Yeah, I definitely didn't mind that you introduced yourself. It's always fun meeting new people, especially if they like Disney AND the Brewers. :thumbsup2

Any other Wisconsin DISers want meet at a Brewer game?:)

Great update, Sarah! We saw the FoW show last May for the first time. Just like you said, it was entertaining and very educational. :thumbsup2

That is too funny that you left the park and headed back so you could watch AI. I had forgotten that you are a total AI addict! :rotfl:

haha yeah, couldn't miss AI. Of course being up at 4 am makes it easy to want to lay down on the couch. :scared1: Would you believe me if I said I have not voted ONCE this entire season?! I might have to start soon though since it's getting closer to the finale.

My DD and I will be at the game May 15th! Love to meet you!! :goodvibes

As of right now we don't have tickets for that game but I just looked at the schedule and saw that's one of the games that is part of the 5-county celebration where tickets are discounted. I'll let you know if we end up going!

The one reason we bought the tickets! The discount! :rotfl: I try to go to those games. :goodvibes
