MIL gave me a great book for xmas, she always finds me a good one. Its called An Hour Before Daylight...by Jimmy Carter. Memories of a rural boyhhood. Its basically about his rural life on the farm in Georgia prior to and during the depression as a boy. I am only 1/4 through...I must say he is an excellent writer. What are you reading?

I know this sounds bizarre......but I am reading "Hockey is My Game" by Bobby Hull.......found an autographed hardcover copy of it (not sure if the autograph is authentic or not) in my local Library's annual book sale....for $1, a couple of weeks ago :teeth:

SInce I read way to many educational journals and school stuff my recreational reading has to be pure fluff. Love Grisham and the like. I did pick up Merrick by Anne Rice and am 3/4 of the way through. I love her Mayfair whitches series.

You asked...

Ann that would be so cool if that autograph was authentic...Bobby Hull one heck of a nice guy, had the pleasure of meeting him and sharing a beer or two on a couple occasions as he lived in the next town a few years back.

Glo I love Grisham, I can go through one of his books in a night or two. Is Anne Rice the one who wrote "Interview with the Vampire"? I think she may be. I have read some of her stuff too. :)

;) Right now I'm reading Wrong Beach Island. Then I'm gonna read Visions of Sugarplums by Janet Evanovich.

I just started reading "The Tower at Stony Wood" by Patricia McKillip. I can't tell you anything about it, other than that it's a standard fantasy with knights and damsels in distress. I've only read 7 pages so far. :)

The Finishing Stoke by Ellery Queen....gotaa love an out of print mystery!!!

I'm pretty sure that Anne Rice did write Interview with a Vampire.
Currently I'm reading "Chesapeake Blue" by Nora Roberts, it's the 4th in a series & I read the other 3 a few years ago.
My next book is going to be "Fig Eater". It's about a murder in the early 1900's. Has anyone read this one yet?
Bobby Hull was one of the greats! I hope your autograph is authentic:D
I like watching Brett Hull skate now!! GO WINGS!!!! :D

I LOVE the Stephanie Plum books!
I read Visions of Sugarplums & now I can't wait for #9:D

I'm just starting "From A Buick 8" ~ Stephen King :)

I enjoyed "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon" by Stephen King. It was one of the books chosen for my monthly book club & I was pleasantly surprised by it:D

I'm reading Anne Lamott's "Blue Shoes". It was a present from our own Beanie. :)

Its a great book - I have read all of Anne Lamott's work and there is a common theme running through each one. Her characters are always very real, very flawed, very human. She has a way of writing about people and making them come alive, you feel like you really know people like this. Or at least I do. Her themes are always very spiritual - not in an in-your-face way, just very gently spiritual. Her books always have a liberal stance, but I would still recommend it to even the most staunch Republican. :)

I am reading The Millionaires by Brad Meltzer. It is long. I am reading it because of the recommendations I saw here.

Right now I'm reading "She's come Undone" by Wally Lamb. I'm also reading a Bio of Walt Disney.

Steven King's "Buick 8". Excellent!!! Best book he's written in awhile.

I'm trying to get through 'Round Ireland with a Fridge". Basically, this guy is trying to win a bet that he can hitchhike around Ireland in a month with a small refrigerator. It's really good; the guy's professional comedian and its very dry English humor, but it's taking me forever to read. This week has been much too busy.

Ranatra-If you like "She's Come Undone" you should also read "I Know This Much is True" by Wally Lamb. I really enjoyed them both.

Yes, Patrick she is the one who wrote "Interview with a Vampire" Merrick is a combination of her Mayfair witches and Vampire books, actually very good, and I am enjoying it. Pandy I want to read "From A Buick 8" let me know how it is? I have to catch up on the latest Grisham book...
