I am right there with you. I've been a mom for 12 years and can't even get a minimum wage job. I'm thinking of going to nursing school or something like that. Ugh!!!! It's tough being 40 and feeling washed up!


As for Christmas gifts, I bought myself a nice North Face down jacket and told hubby that could be my Christmas gift. He knows better though. I've hinted a lot that I want the Isabella Fiore Minnie Mouse tote, but that's just dreaming on my part. I check it out online everyday and it's been sold out for awhile, so even if he tried, he couldn't get it for me. I also hinted that some new perfume would be a really nice stocking stuffer. My son bought me perfume every Mother's day for years and I'm finally running out.

Of course, I already have everything I could ever want. These are just things that my husband can feel good about giving me, because he can't stand it when he doesn't come up with something. We're going to WDW on January 5th, so his Christmas will be Disney themed, of course!

DH and I give each other 3 things... One that we ask for, one that we need and one that we think the other will like. I asked for a Keurig Mini brewer, he got me a wrist watch that I needed and now he still needs to get me something he thinks I would like and that would be a surprise (hoping for a gift card or two). I love that we do this, he is the type that goes Christmas shopping on Christmas eve at 6p and I am now guaranteed 2 gifts that were not last minute gifts.

I'm also hoping that I get a new piece to my Willow Tree Nativity set and some perfume. DH is excellent at filling my stocking. In the past I've got Sugar Daddys (my FAVE candy!), Little Debbie snack cakes (which I LOVE but won't buy), CD's, movies and gift cards.

Prayers for those looking for jobs, for themselves, and their spouses. It is a *tough* time of year to be out of work, esp. with the job market the way it is these days.

I know that I am blessed, and thankful for my spouse who really would like to get me something nice for Christmas. Just hoping he doesn't spend too much (I'm the frugal one!)

This has been a fun read. I dont really have anything to tell Dh this year. I have been thinking on it but not coming up with much that isnt like $10.

Prior years were really sad but the last 2 Christmases he really came thru with shining colors. Last year he didn't even use the list so he did awesome! Its hard to compete with last years saddle for my horse so I don't know what I want.... Maybe some more horse stuff.

Keep adding to the list and maybe something will catch my eye! I would love another Le Creuset dutch oven in maybe a 6 qt but IF he were to buy one he would know what they cost and that might be a whole different issue.... I'll just buy that on my own next spring and let him be in the dark on cost.

An ipod stereo of some sort. It doesn't have to be too fancy, but it would be nice to not have to listen to music through headphones or computer speakers.

My perfume.. which I've worn since I was a teen and has always been somewhat hard to find.
Clothes .. since I went from a size 16 to an 8 this year and NOTHING fits. I have some new stuff, but when you have to replace everything it gets really really expensive.

We just moved up over the summer to wear they actually have winter...

So on my list are comfy lounge clothes suitable for exiting the house. Sometimes I like to dress comfy and in Florida, it would just be shorts and a tshirt, easy peasy. That doesn't work in winter! Soooo....I asked for some gap shirts and comfy pants (danskin brand or something like it).

Additionally.....

Homedics shiatsu foot massager to add to my "collection"--I have different stuff for different purposes--but nothing for my feet.

Homemedics macdaddy shiatsu back massager that I saw at kohl's--over $200...that won't happen, but a girl can dream!

Jewelry--costume type for when you want to look cute and trendy

Itunes gift card--small amount. I have a couple of songs I would like to buy. Though come to think of it, I still have a balance from my $20 card from 4 or 5 years ago.

And $75 to get a GOOD haircut after a very very very bad chop job at a discount salon. I was trying to save a few bucks as we adjust our budgets--it looked terrible. I can sort of hide the damage, but it really upset and horrified me what she did. For now, I can't afford to get it fix, so I'm really hoping that he set aside cash so that I can go and get it fixed properly.

Couldn't really think of much else. I overspent on hubby and I "gave permission" for him to spend less. He asked for and got a keurig and a projector clock. I also bought him epic mickey.

I'm the stocking filler. I buy cute things and stuff for everyone. I get bupkus in my stocking. One of these days, I'm going to fill it with something cool...like a little blue box from Tiffany. "Oh honey, look at what Santa brought me!!!!!"

ETA: I did also ask for a very inexpensive gym membership and my husband to peacefully help with baby in the morning so that I could go to it. Gym is only $10 per month...but my request is more for the complaint free watching of the baby so that I can go to it. My treadmill is kind of in need of replacing and the gym membership is much cheaper than the treadmill that I would be shopping for to replace it.

I hope your DH will not complain so you can go to the gym
