So Upset -- Le Cellier

I have been trying for a long time for our surprise August trip, a few weeks back I found lunch - I was happy to just get in BUT i really wanted dinner. I kept checking back at different times during the day so no luck. I was about to stop trying and a few nights ago (were talking 3AM) I found a dinner ressie. I was quite funny, I wasn't sure if I was seeing things because I had been up late working.

Keep trying!

I agree with everyone else. Next time try at 180 days or 108 + 10. That's how I got mine this year. So now just keep trying or try to book a CP package and quickly!! Sorry for your frustration....:flower3:

It's worth it. We love that place and it's the first ADR I make and even at 180 days out I feel lucky when I can get an ADR there. :woohoo:

If you are staying onsite - hopefully you are - then check with your concierge. My DH and I did this when we stayed at WL a few years ago. Like you, we could not secure a res at Le Cellier before we arrived, but we made it a habit to check with the concierge whenever we were travelling through the lobby and voila - on the 3rd or 4th try, the CM announced that there was availability for the next night! She was as surprised as we were and said, "You'd better grab this right now."

It meant giving up our ADR for Narcoossee's, but we were able to go there on a different night anyway as they are not nearly as busy as Le Cellier. Be persistent and positive! :thumbsup2

for last year's trip, I got nothing at the (then) 90 day window. I tried on line twice a day minimum and 30 days out a bunch of times opened up for dinner and we got it for the exact day we wanted it.

As a side note, if you do not get in, please don't be too disappointed. It was soooo not worth our effort! We waited 1 1/2 hours for our table, only to be rushed through a mediocre meal.

This was our experience also.

Another thought - I saw some people suggesting that you try to get a CP package when they are released. However, when CP Packages are released, a lot of people will be "converting" their Le Cellier ADR to a CP Package. What this really means is that they will be cancelling their regular ADR and booking a CP ADR which will take from the "reserved" tables and open up the standard ADR's. My advice, when you see they open up the CP ADR's, call that day, many times during the day and for the next few weeks. I'm sure a Le Cellier ADR will open up. We're doing the same thing, but for our Tutto Italia ADR - cancelling our standard ADR and booking the CP package. Good luck! :wizard:

We are planning on doing the same thing as the previous poster. If we get the candelight pkg. for Le Cellier Dec 9th, then I am cancelling our lunch for the 8th I think. Sorry its only for 2. But keep trying.

Gotta go along with everyone else in saying keep trying. I only booked my trip for 8/27 - 9/5 (with free Dining, so gotta use those TS credits) in early June - inside 90 days, let alone 180. As someone who was not eduacated on the current ins and outs of Disney Dining - not having been to World in 10 years - I didn't even start with ADRs until early July. Of course, there was nothing good available when I first looked. But now, among my ADRs, I have dinner ressies at Le Cellier, Ohana, Coral Reef, and Chef Mickey's with breakfasts at Crystal Palace, Tusker House and Akershus - and at reasonable times too. Keep at it, and you'll probably get most of what you want.

Granted, it's certainly more "work" than anything associated with a vacation should be, but that's they way it is with the poor way Disney has set up the ADR rules (a rant that I have gone in to with more passion and detail in other threads).

Once you are down in Disney....go to Le Cellier right when it opens (11:00 if I remember correctly). Are there just two of you? Odds are they will seat you for lunch if you are there right when they open....even without a reservation. We have done this many times, and have always been able to get in!! Good luck!!! :goodvibes

I also had two mediocre meals there. Unfortunately, I was not rushed. Quite the opposite. We were completely forgotten.

I enjoy Le Cellier, but for what it's worth - I will tell you that it is very overrated. If you want a great steak, you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere. ;)

It is hard to get because people have a mindset that they have to get it because everybody else wants it. It is not hard to get because the food is fantastic. ;)

I tried at 180 for a time later in the week I'll be there-nada. I ended up getting a lunch on the last day we're there....so hopefully when the CP stuff comes out I'll get lucky!

Le Cellier is definetly not the be all and end all. The disboards tends to hype certain things and it can lead people to think that if you can't get an ADR for a particular restaurant, your trip will be ruined. The food is good, but I wouldn't call it a dream restaurant. As a previous poster stated- try a walk up, with the new online system, you never know. It really isn't worth getting upset over.

Hey! Keep trying- daily if you have to. We are going in September and did not plan this until about 3 weeks ago- and with persistence we have finally gotten into Le Cellier on a Saturday night at 5:30! Just keep trying and something will come up I bet. Also- they may start (or may have) a December reservation cancellation thread- and you can watch and see if anyone is canceling reservations you may want! I think the closer you get to the date the more cancellations you will see.
Good luck and have fun!!

The last two trips that we wanted to get into Le Cellier (Sept. 2007 and Jan. 2009) we didn't--even at 180 days out. I kept checking periodically--at least once a week--and both times I scored dinner reservations that other people had canceled.

We booked this upcoming trip (August 2010) back in May, so naturally there was nothing left for lunch or dinner by the time we went to book our ADRs. Well I tried the same method (looking online at least once a day), and I've managed to get a lunch reservation for the exact day that we wanted to begin with. And while I'm still looking for a dinner ADR, I will take what I get.

So my advice is to keep checking the Disney website or calling and checking for cancellations. You never know what will happen! :)

Keep checking every day for a cancellation. You may get lucky and be able to snap up a table. Otherwise, show up at Le Ceiller right when they open. I actually had luck getting in that way over Spring Break. They open at 11:30 according to the Disney web site. Keep trying and good luck!

We managed to get reservations less than 30 days out for Le Cellier ... just took a few phone calls and some internet searching. Think we were able to score the ADR online as someone cancelled.

We are in the same boat. Hubby and I planned a last minute trip to Epcot for our 10th anniversary next weekend. When I say last minute we just booked our hotel yesterday afternoon. I have been trying several times the last 2 days, but I am going to keep trying. Good Luck!

Just booked a trip to Disney during 12/11-12/18 and ONCE AGAIN:headache:, I'm unable to get Le Cellier. I tried from 12-8 each day that we'll be there, but no luck. Are there any tips or anything that I should try so my husband can have his dream meal??

I have been to wdw xmas week for the past 5 years and have been able to get Le Cellier the past 3 and was successful this year, but it was always at the first available date(90 days last year, 180 days this year). I also enjoy late dining (this year its at 9:20pm for night emh at epcot) so that is probably why I have been able to do this. Its tough for anyone making reservations after the 180 days but not impossible. Keep checking for cancellations..good luck.
