So this is what mid-life crisis feels like? Dec 2011 PTR

Thank you Ann! The sound was unnerving - that was the oddest part for me.. the bed shaking was really not that bad but the sound really stuck with me.

Yes! That sound stuck with me too. The shaking... not so much... the sound... just not normal.

Okay - quick family update... Tonight is Eddie's first play-off game... I'll let you know if I get my hubby back full-time or not tomorrow!! :goodvibes

Erin started basketball this week - I think I told you their first game was rough but the other two - they played very well and she's really developing into a good player. I got tickled at her last night - she's aggressive and is not beneath fighting for a ball... :lmao: But my funniest "mom" moment that we discussed on our drive home happened when she was shooting free throws. She'd been fouled and I need to add here that normally, there aren't usually cheerleaders at JH basketball games. The team they played last night did have them though. The other teams cheerleaders were chanting "Miss it" while she was shooting and I'm so thankful she held her concentration and made the points but after the second shot went in, she threw this horrible, daunting glare at the cheerleaders that made me want to crawl under the bleachers!!! :lmao: Then my mama leaned over and said "I know where she gets that from!" :rotfl2:

Can I just say I'm so thankful for a weekend at HOME?? I see it just around the corner... :goodvibes

That is too funny that your mom recognized the attitude!!:rotfl:

:woohoo::banana::yay::banana::woohoo:

35 days!!

22 more work days!!!

5 more weeks!!!

I believe I'm on our 4th full day (day 5 of trip) which will be 12/20:

This is our Animal Kingdom day! And again, going to take it slow and just go with the flow. We do not have any ADR's this day so we will:

Grab breakfast in the concierge lounge
Hit rope drop at AK
Must Do's include EE, safari, Primeval Whirl (Nate is stoked because he's tall enough to ride finally), Dinosaur, and come heck or high water, we will see the Lion King show! We've not seen this yet and I'm not missing it this year. We will also see It's Tough to Be a Bug and I'm hoping to ride the train, and visit Camp Mickey/Minnie and meet some characters!

We will watch the parade and leave shortly after it ends. The evening/afternoon is open to whatever we would like. I think I will leave this in the hands of the kids. If they want to go to DTD, we will go. If they want to go to the resort, we will do that. If they'd like to revisit a park, then that's great, too!

The only stipulation I will have is that we are back to the Poly by 9:30p to meet Eddie who will arrive this night and be with us the remainder of the trip! :goodvibes

This will be our final day of "taking it easy." We will have been in all four parks and will hit them one more time, more commando style, so Eddie can take it all in!! :thumbsup2

12/20 is our AK day too!!! I think it will be a low key day for us too... especially since the park closes so early.

I love that Erin copped attitude with the opposing team's cheerleaders. Kinda like "take that!". Awesome.

12/20 is our AK day too. So chances are we will see y'all there. And, if you've never seen FOTLK, it's a must-do. Since you're going to be there until the parade, you'll have plenty of time for everything, just make FOTLK your priority for sure. You'll be glad you did.

I think we are also going to try to squeeze Nemo in. We kinda got bored with it in 2008, but it was the title of my (defunct) trip report. Loved that my then-16- and 15- year old girls were walking around singing "na na na na na na na na - Do you MIND?!" for the rest of the trip. Great memories.

Wow, looks like several of us will be in AK on the 20th! :woohoo:

We are safe and the weather has substantially 'calmed' and we even have great temps going on... high 60's through next week! My goal is to make our trip without the interference of snow so I'm hopeful winter weather will hold off until Dec. 25th and then let it snow let it snow let it snow... but not in the Texas Panhandle... we need Tammie to get her trip in! :goodvibes

I am actually hoping it snows here before we leave (like the day before on Damien's real birthday) because then we can leave a day early DH said and that would be a gift/surprise/Christmas gift/push gift all wrapped up in one just to beat the snow!
But I hope that it stays nice while Tammie makes her way to Disney too! She has done so much for the trip I would hate for her to miss anything that she has planned!

So cute that your mom noticed the "look"! And I kinda wish that your DH's team played well! The only thing I have with them playing well is that you are kept busy, but I bet it will make him feel good that he did well in training them!

I like the AK days! I was just wondering though... are you going to be in Epcot on the 16th or the 17th? I will be there on the 16th!

:goodvibes I'm beginning to think the 20th might be a good day to throw in an impromptu dis meet! :thumbsup2

I'm undecided on Nemo still. What about for a 9, 10 and 13 yo for that show? Yea or Nay?

Oh yes, she did and of course she couldn't wait to point it out!!! :rotfl:

Yay!!!! :banana::banana::banana: for 35 days!!!

Means were at 36 which of course means more :banana::banana:

Well I hope you get your snow so you can leave early! ;)

DH's team played as well as they could but did not win last night so football season is 100% FINISHED for the 2011 year in our household. :cheer2: Overall - it was truly a good season and I can't believe how quickly it went by.

I must admit, it was nice to actually sleep in a little bit this morning, and then Eddie and I cooked breakfast together and sat down as a family of five to eat... the kids were in shock. :rotfl2:

I am definitely going to be in Epcot on the 17th - and am considering going the night of the 16th. We are going to tour WL and Fort Wilderness early evening and am toying with venturing over there later that evening. Seems like Ann may have been able to meet up somewhere on evening of the 16th - Fort Wilderness, possibly?

At least they know that they played their hardest!!!! And I am going to be happy next Sunday when I can kinda sleep in (I won't have to wake up for soccer at least! So I love watching him play, but it's SO COLD at the 9am games! And you have 3 kids plus Eddie in sports to keep up with I just have Damien and Kaung and that's a lot so I can't imagine!

How funny that they were in shock, we never get to eat with DH because he's not even home when we are off sometimes!

You know I am a little confused because there are a lot of places that we can meet up- I think that we are meeting in Epcot on the 16th I have to ask her about that again to make sure! But the 17th I am leaving so I would love to meet you at the hotel to tour them or something or if you are in Epcot on the night of the 16th we can all meet up if Ann is going to be there at night still! I don't know I did give her my Dh's cellphone number to text or call when she's there so if you want I can give it to you and we can try to get something arranged?

We are going with Yea...Ab's favorite Disney movie (at the moment)...although I can't stand Dory! :rotfl:

Sorry about the loss, I am sure Eddie is down about it...but just remind him that he will be in a happy place in a few short weeks!

Don't you love it when you can shock the kids...:rotfl2: It does not happen much, but it sure if fun when it does!

Attitude...you had attitude that you passed on to your daughter?! :rotfl2: My mom keeps reminding me that Ab's attitude is completely mine! She has been on a time schedule, independent and hates change of plans since the day she was born...wonder who she gets that from...:rolleyes1 Those darn cheerleaders are a pain...I know I have one :cheer2:...but only because she is so darn petite that games like basketball and volleyball are impossible for her to compete!

The day sounds great. Just be sure to either do Camp Minnie & Mickey or the Character Trails for photo ops with the characters. :goodvibes

Oh there are times I completely recognize myself in my daughter... :sad2: Even when I hear her 'parent' her little brothers... :rotfl: I got so tickled at Erin copping the attitude with them because they were only doing what they are there to do... :lmao: Cheer for their team and distract the others!

The day sounds great. Just be sure to either do Camp Minnie & Mickey or the Character Trails for photo ops with the characters. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 I'm on a mission for good photo ops! Question - do they take photopass pics at the character meets? My brain tells me they always have on our past trips... but I'm second guessing myself!! :upsidedow

I swear I am going to sneak away on December 19th and find all of you...I already took the day off to pack...

Seriously would be awesome... it's not that expensive for one person... we could sneak you in one of our rooms... call it a 'business trip' to your family and COME ON DOWN!!! :goodvibes

We have an ADR at Yak and Yeti for 5:30. I was kinda thinking of making it for later, but I won't if we all might want to meet up that evening.

We will be in Epcot the night of the 16th. (CP and illuminations) So we will probably be there rather late. The 17ty we will be in MK, but I doubt for that late as we have an ADR at the wave at 6:30. I could possibly escape for a while for a quick dismeet.:goodvibes

Let me know about the 20th. We have an ADR at Boma that night, but that's all we've got.

I would say Yea on Nemo. It's really a well-done show. Ours were 16 and 15 when we went and I don't think they got as bored as I did. I just think the show went a little long for me.

We are going with Yea...Ab's favorite Disney movie (at the moment)...although I can't stand Dory! :rotfl:

I love her because I am so much like her--- I have such a bad memory so I made one of my shirts of her!

We said we were meeting the 16th right Ann? I am pretty sure.... but that would be nice if we all can meet it depends if Amy wants to do illuminations or is that a family thing? I don't know but we are going to watch that on this night too! And we will be there for the whole day!

Yes, I was thinking we were going to ride a ride together during the day. (figment) Yes? I just need to know what people want to do so I can plan accordingly.

So you guys all promise to take a picture and text it to me as this all goes down...RIGHT?
