I had the absolute pleasure of dining at both LeCellier and San Angel Inn yesterday and oh my gosh!
I honestly didn't believe the hype because I'm really picky and I've read through the menus and wasn't blown away. However... once I tasted the food I was most definitely impressed.
At Le Cellier for lunch: My friend got a Salmon salad and I had the "French dip." Also, you can never overexaggerate the deliciousness of the pretzel-breadsticks. Yum!
We spied the Chocolate Moose, but were too stuffed to indulge.
At San Angel Inn for dinner: We both got a Fiesta Margarita (I finished mine first
in the midst of a brain freeze
). Then he got Mahi-mahi and I got the Carne Asada steak with Chilaquiles. (And those were some spicy Chilaquiles, let me tell you.
) I thought I'd need some ice cream or something to cool off my mouth, but in the end we just sat for a bit enjoying the scenery and we were ok. (He had half of them.) Oh, and, Roberto was our server and he was awesome!
So, in conclusion, it really is true... they are both excellent and I would recommend them to everybody.
