We didn't go there last time, and we aren't thinking about getting the plusses on our tickets (honestly - it's just too darn exhausting going to the crowded water parks, plus we have season passes for our local waterpark so we won't be missing much) -

What is it? I envision a big video arcade - LOL

Our girls will be 5 and 8.

Tell me all about it! (and whether we should reconsider adding it or not - we will be getting a 6 or 7 day pass for our time down there) If you have any pictures, that's always a plus!

Thanks!

I believe it is much more than a video arcade. It has indoor rides as well.

That said, I would not do it with girls unless they are into video games. My DD4 is into them because she has two older brothers. My nieces are not! I would plan on my daughter enjoying it, but my nieces would be happier at the resort pool.

We spent the better part of a day at DQ last Feb. My boys were 8 & 11 and LOVED it, and I think DH loved it MORE!

Yes, it has arcade games, and alot of older ones (which bring back some great memories). It also has a bunch of virtual games, which the kids loved.

I really enjoyed playing the older games myself, pac-man, centerpied, phoenix, etc. DQ also has FREE internet access so I was able to stop by on the DIS while DH & the boys were creating roller coasters.

We were there for about 6 or 7 hours, and if we didn't have PSs for HDDR that night, we would have stayed longer.

We went once and had fun.... but my DD's 11 and 15 at the time do not want to go again.

There are quite a few virtual reality attractions. The one I remember is a raft that you all get into and *paddle* down a raging river that is on a screen in front of you. There's another attraction where you are on the deck of a ship shooting cannons at other ships.

Deb's Unofficial site has descriptions of all these at: http://www.allearsnet.com/btp/dqfaq.htm

Many of the attractions made us a little quesy, the feeling you get looking at at a big screen that is moving. The simulated roller coaster has a car that gives me some of the same feelings I get on Mission Space. You don't really go anywhere, but the car moves up and down and back and forth.

I went with my then 8 year old son last year. We spent 4 hours and could have spent much more if he had his way. It was great fun designing and then riding in our own roller coaster (he made it pretty lame cuz we're both cowards) and then buying a video of us on it! There is the pirates of the caribbean ride where five people staff the cannons and one steers the boat while the floor of the boat rocks with the waves. pirate: THAT was worth the price of admission (I paid something like $65 last year for the privilege). The bumber cars were a blast! And, yes, he spent hours at various pinball machines and other arcade games. But my boy is into those things.

Marsha in Seattle who'll be taking a 16 ds, 14 dd, and 9 ds to DQ again this year!

Also, the Cheesecake Factory hosts the eateries inside, and their cheesecake is to die for! I try not to have too much to eat for lunch, just to make room for that cheesecake.

:earseek: firing cannons at other ships sounds like a "blast". We've never been, going for two weeks in less than 2 months so maybe we'll check it out. :teeth:

We spent a half a day at DisneyQuest...my 10 DS had a great time designing his own rollercoaster. We went on it several times. Be aware that some times the compartments have to "BE CLEANED" be cause of accidents due to motion sickness. That said my 8 DD absoluely loved the computer easels. We could not drag her away from them. The pirate ride was fun as we all could do it at the same time. The rafting ride was also fun but after several times your arms will hurt.
If its gonna be a poor weather day and you are looking for something to do thats different. It is expensive but we had a blast
