Hey there!! Im new to the boards..thought I'd join since me and my family (my husband, my inlaws, and my little girl) are planning our trip to Orlando/Disney for this October!!

Our daughter is 2.5 yrs old and this will be her first time. We will be staying at the Marriott Harbour Lake Resort.. Anyone ever stayed there? I know its a good 10 miles or so from WDW..but its ok.. they have a time share there and we will all be together as a family!!!

I love WDW and hope our daughter enjoys it! We just got off her first cruise and she loved it!! Now we are prepping her for her BIG DISNEY trip in just 5 months!! yayaya!!!!

Anyone give me any pointers about weather that time of year? (first week of October).. or anything about the hotel?

Thanks!

Jackie

Welcome to DIS! How exciting to be planning your little ones first WDW trip! :cool1: Nothing like seeing the World through your little ones eyes!

I can't give you any tips about the hotel you are staying at because we've never been there then.

I would suggest taking your own stroller with you that has a reclining seat. The strollers at Disney are hard plastic and very uncomfortable....especially for a little one that may need an afternoon snooze to recharge her battery! ;)

thank you so much!!!! As for the stroller... quick Q.. Ive always been there as a "big" kid... meaning.. not having to push around strollers, etc.. are they pretty safe to be left there at the entrance of each ride, esp. if my hubby and I are both going on the ride(s) with her??

we've never had a problem leaving our stroller while we went on the rides, but we just use a simple umbrella stroller & we don't leave anything of value in it

Your stroller will be just fine, you may not in most cases be able to park it right at the ride entrace, there are stroller parking lots and if you do not park in them CM's will move your stroller. I wouldn't recommend leaving anythign super valuable in your stroller like a camera or wallet but we have never had anything taken from any of our strollers.

ohh ok.. thank you :) We will most likely bring our regular size stroller, that way she can lean back (she is only 2.5) and since we arent staying on the WDW property.. she will most likely fall asleep/nap while we are there..but def. wouldnt leave anything of value.. and she is potty training and mostly done/accomplished with it ..so by then, we wont need a diaper bag or anything, just something small with a change of clothes incase of an accident.

Also.. we are getting our tickets for all the parks thru Shades of Green (there at WDW grounds).. my husband is in the Military.. and they are cheaper going thru them.. any one familiar with getting tickets there? IF ONLY we were able to go in September.. we can get that special for $99 (4 day pass/parks)... ughh!!! haha

Hi!

I am going at the end of September for the first time! My daughter is 3 and I can't wait to see her face when she gets to meet all the characters!

ohh yay!! thats exciting!!!! My daughter will be about a month shy of 3.. we figured go then (which is also the best time for my inlaws--will be my BIL's fall break)... but my DD will be FREE!! haha.. we went with my niece when she was 2.5 yrs old and she did great, so I have no doubt she will do well .. we just got off of a cruise the other day and she did GREAT... so Im sure she will do fine at Disney..lol

Are you all in the military by chance? Im excited for you guys! I guess youll be there the week before us!! :)
