And Tink relocating to town square with fp+ option but no fairy friend. DD will be so sad. Seems so many changes lately.

Counting down to 14th May!

I'm going to preface this post by saying that I wholeheartedly believe that change is essential for progress and improvement. It is necessary. Now with that out the way, I am going on to say I am not overly excited about the current and recent changes.

Tink is not a big deal to us, but I am with you on this in that there have been way too many changes in too short a space of time. Disney regulars love to plan things way in advance so that they feel in control of their trip. Now I feel I am being forced to plan aspects that I like to be able to take as they come, but at the same time, everything that I have researched and planned thus far keeps changing and sending me back to the drawing board.

I have had my days oscillating between the extremes for this trip and there are days when I just can't wait to go ... and then there are others, like today, which are occurring more and more frequently where I just feel that for the amount of money I have put into this year's vacation, it is just more freaking hassle than it is worth. If I wasn't going to lose my flight money entirely by canceling, I'd probably have done it within this month.

Thank you for starting a thread that gave me a sounding board for my rant :(

On the up side, since Disney can't seem to commit to any of their changes and keep re-changing things under the guise of "Testing", what we stress about today is likely to have changed again by the time we get there. For better or worse? that remains the question.

I can relate to your frustration

I think its sad they are planning on taking Tink friend away - it was always nice to have the meets where it was line for multiple characters.

Like Lee - I have my moments about whether it's worth it however when I get to Orlando I always have a good time so we will keep going. I have noticed our park time is reducing but that's OK we get the best of both worlds now :thumbsup2

I agree Lee. It feels more like a regimental march than a holiday sometimes. I do not mind change but sometimes I feel that if I did not plan and everyone else does I would not be able to do anything. All the little things I remember from years ago seem to be fading away making way for bigger newer things.

They are. And I think that is what brings us to a crossroads. My reaction to recent changes has highlighted the fact that for us, Disney is very much a sentimental connection; take away the things that we like doing over and over and I'm not sure that's where I want to throw my almost £6k again. This is our most expensive trip to date, by close to double! So now I feel this pressure to ensure that it is better than any we've had so far and know that if I go in with that attitude, we are going to be frustrated and let down because its all to do with perception. However I am planning booking for next year, but will cancel if we return from this trip feeling disenchanted. Hopefully I'm wrong about this.

I know EXACTLY what you mean Lee. With a trip coming in October, especially as after many, many, many years of nagging my mum and and sister are finally coming with us, I would expect to be in full planning mode by now. As it is I have a list of nightly TS ADR's I want to make and that's about it. I'm not sure about FP+ as every thing keep changing :confused3

I have not even finalised an itinerary, which is very unusual for me at this stage. I have mapped out the days when we are with friends because I needed to. Otherwise, just made one ADR and not sure how to plan the rest. To be fair, given the season we are going in, I know that park hours are going to change significantly during our trip so I'm holding off while I can to get a better idea of where they are going with that, as suddenly previous years' corresponding hours are not a reliable source to work from anymore.

We go in 49 days - I haven't booked an ADR yet!

I can decide what we want to - all I know is we will be staying at OKW!

Our trips have changed and hopefully FP+ will continue to fit in meaning we get to ride what we really want. :)
