So nervous!!

Looks like a lot of people want to get together for Wishes some night...

I think that a few weeks down the road we should post a thread with all the plans and such.

I was really nervous before I went on the college program for Spring 2004, because I had only lived at home and living with roommates, dealing with what came with all that was completely new to me. I got 7 roommates, 8 of us guys all together, so you can imagine what that experience would be like. I worked custodial at the Magic Kingdom in Frontierland. It gave me a lot of challenges and forced me to evolve more as a person. I did alot of stuff in that job that I'd never done before and didn't think I'd ever do. Both my living and working experience were great, I wouldn't change anything about them. The whole program was great, I learned alot about myself and really came into my own as an individual and adult. As soon as I finished my program that May and got home to Illinois, I wanted to jump right back to my old life at Disney. I debated with myself for quite a while on whether or not to return to the college program. I came to the realization that I couldn't duplicate my experience that I had, but I did have the opportunity to return and have another unique time down there. I came wait to start back at Disney on January 11th. It won't come soon enough. I've been homesick for Disney for too long

I am leaving tomorrow to go to Disney and I check in on the 9th. I'm still nervous, really nervous...and now I don't think I want to go anymore. :guilty:

Now u are already there and I bet you're sooo happy!!! :)

I work at a college and have several students coming home and several leaving this semester, I think they will be there in Jan. Those coming home had a great time and learned alot. Those going are so excited. Relax and enjoy, I work with the WDWCP because that is just the sort of thing i would have wanted to do when I was in college but the program started many years to late. I'm hoping that my children will do the college program when they are out of high school. If you meet some one from Roane State Community College get to know them they are great folks.

I am just really sorry I won't be able to meet any of you :sad1: I'm coming home at the end of this week. The CP is not for me. My friend who came down with me was just notified of a serious health condition by her doctor (you'd think they could have notified her before she left, because they knew she was going to FLA), so with her gone, my reminder of home will be gone. Plus, I hated Vista. I know I barely gave it a chance...but this experience was just out of my "comfort zone." Also, my friend and I accidentely hopped on a wrong bus and were taken to the back of the Magic Kingdom, where i saw random warehouses and buildings...it almost ruined the illusion of fantasy of the MK for me. I want to think of the MK and the other parks only as what they are...I don't want to see the "stuff in the back" that makes everything happen. I want to experience Disney World as a guest, and nothing more. To everyone in the CP, good luck and have fun. :)

Please stay and give it a try.. One of the reasons you go to college is to expand your "comfort zone"

You are very right...I agree 100%. ::yes::

But, I am just not the type that ventures far from what they know...and that really should change. The CP would have been a great way to become more independent, but it was something I decided I just did not want to do.

Degrassi26, I'm sorry you had a bad time. I hope your friend is ok! What was it about Vista you didn't like?
The bad thing about working in WDW is knowing all that backstage stuff... some people like it, some people don't.
But maybe you could come visit us all ;)
