DS3 was building with his blocks in the kitchen. He kept getting frustrated that his tower would fall over. I was trying to pick up the mess in the other rooms (which was why I set him up with blocks in the kitchen), so I told him to just build smaller towers or a wall or anything that would make him happy and give me a few moments to find my floor.
It got quiet in the kitchen for awhile and I didn't think anything of it except "yay I'm getting something done." Then the dog started whining. I thought she might need a walk so I headed to the kitchen to see her sitting on the edge of the carpet vibrating with anticipation and whining her head off. I looked into the kitchen and saw this:
Okay, so I've discovered the source of the dogs whines. There are gummies on the floor and she is hoping some of them wind up in her bowl. Obviously DS3 decided to help himself to a snack while I was cleaning.
I thought "wow, he really got that tower tall this time." Then I started looking at it more closely.
It is leaning at a pretty odd angle to still be standing. I thought "only a kid could do that and have it work." Then I looked even more closely.
No, it couldn't be. I must be seeing things.
I'm not seeing things. Those are gummies sticking out from between the blocks. His solution to the tower falling over? Stick them together with the only stick thing he could reach. The gummies that are always on the kitchen counter.
I'm impressed at his problem solving skills, but less than thrilled to be digging gummy candy from between mega blocks.

) Then he'd be able to reuse the Legos again.
