Hi Guys, First off let me say I am excited for my DD who is 17 and going to England with friends from here to meet up with friends from there (that she made at camp) but I am scared to death and clueless. What type of money should I give her? Should I open up a charge card for her to use while touring or should we get travelers checks? She will be staying with friends in Dorms & Hostles, one hotel. Also while I have your attention. How cold is it? She is leaving on Feb. 13 and staying till Feb 28th, 2007. I'm getting her a phone so at least I can get in touch with her. Renting one from Verizon. Thanks, That's all for now but I'm sure I'll be back. Gina
As for money if she has an ATM card that will work well here as long as it has the Cirrus/Visa/Mastercard/Maestro logo. Traveller's Cheque are not as widely accepted here as they are in the US as a straight forward 'cash transaction' but we do have a lot of banks that would exchange and I am guessing it would be best to bring in UK pounds £. As for temperature where will DD be staying as even in such a small area we can have quite a variation in temperatures.
