Ok, this is not a bad problem to have, but what can we spend our on board credit on? We are huge Disney cruise fans and have sailed 16 times but not since February 2020. We have had to rebook or cancel 8 cruises we had scheduled. We had 3 scheduled for 2021 but just canceled our February one because we are hoping, praying the restrictions go away but don’t think they will by then.
When we called to cancel they said we now will have 2,600 dollars that will be applied to our next cruise if we don’t use it before then. Our next cruise is a 3 night Wish in September. The credit expires they said on September 30, 2022. We can’t fit in another cruise with my job and moving so this leaves us with the thousands for on board credit on our 3 night cruise. What can we possibly spend this on? We are spendthrifts and on our previous 16 cruises have probably not spent more than 50 dollars above the tips.
What should splurge on?

Oh, and maybe some spa time. 😉

Merchandise!! Everyone's getting Disney t-shirts and gift shop items galore :-). Can you book a future cruise and just keep rolling it out until you can use it?

We are thinking about bringing an empty suitcase and filling up with Christmas gifts for everyone. We can’t roll it over to another future cruise they said :(

Ways to use Onboard Credit
Alcoholic beverages.
Gratuity (given at your discretion)
Port Adventures booked through Disney Cruise Line (read more)
At shipboard spa and salons (see list)
Adult Exclusive Dining (see list)
Gift shop purchases.
Photo Purchase.
Laundry.

I had forgotten about laundry! Let them dry clean all of your items so you go home with a clean laundry! Just be careful not to send it all in the bag for the regular laundry or it will come out in hot water and possibly shrunk!

3 of us on a 4-night cruise managed to spend $1600 between us.

Port Adventures
Spa (twice for each of us, embarkation special and then another spa treatment 2 days later)
Gratuity (extra)
Merchandise/souvenirs

I don't think you'll have a problem spending that much. We could have gone for a few more massages (like a daily one), lol.

Maybe the $200 rainforest room (private for 2 hours!) We did not do that.

I see you have one night less than us, but I think if you enjoy massages back home, you will like the ones on the trip too (and those come out to $150-200 each, including gratuity). If you know someone that collects Loungefly backpacks or Minnie ears, they have exclusive DCL ones too. Oh, and a lot of pretty artwork!

That is a lot to spend on a 3 nt cruise. Is it possible to change it to a longer cruise? Maybe 5-7 nights? Then it would be pretty easy to rack up that much of a bill.

This is because of your 125% FCC, correct? I'd look long and hard and simply getting a refund for the 2020 fare. That might be cheaper in the long run for you, even if you forfeit the 25% bonus.

Have you looked at hotels pre cruise? I've used a large chunk of mine to pay for the Hyatt at Orlando airport prior to the cruise then a Disney hotel after the cruise and also prepaid tips. I still have some left which my plan is to just spend on gifts ect but means I have less costs for the trip as a whole as would have needed the hotel precruise anyway and could fit in some nights post cruise.

What should splurge on?

Palo and Remy brunch, wine package for the dining room, special experiences for the kids, wine tasting for adults, nice excursions, cabana on Castaway Cay if available after boarding, spa treatments, merchandise, $ treats from the candy shop, pictures (package?) …

We have a cruise upcoming on the 29th on the Wonder. We have a $3,100 on board credit and are in the same position that another cruise before September 2022 is not possible given our schedules and other planned trips. Here is what we are planning so far: 2 Princess packages at Boutique, Royal Court Tea, Wine tasting, Dolphin excursion, Wine package for dinner, massage for DH, Palo brunch. We are doing concierge so our drink bill tends to be a bit lower due to the welcome lunch and happy hours, but figure it will cover all any other drinks we might get at the pool or otherwise. Last time we had trouble using our credit so we went and got frames and used them for the photos, which I will do again. We always tip in cash so we don't want to use the credit for that. We might upgrade our room at Port and will likely end up paying the Mouse. Enjoy the credit and Treat Yo Self!!!!
