<font color=navy>Our family has always shared our lives with animals. I grew up having several cats, dogs, lizards, tarantulas, snakes, rats, mice, ducks and chickens (and I live in the suburbs).

My kids have grown up with cats, a dog, lizards, too many hampsters - went from 2 to over 30 - I finally dumped the babies all at a pet store & separated the two original ones. I'm sure the neighborhood kids called me "the hampster lady" at one time.

My mom had always promised a Siamese, or a blue-eyed kitty to my dd. Well, mom passed in '95, when my little one was just just 6. A little over a week after my mom passed away (I kid you not) we found a tiny kitten in our backyard. Its mother had put it in our yard, and was feeding it, and disappearing during the day. The kitten wasn't Siamese, but it had blue eyes. We named her Lucky, and she's been with us ever since. Lucky doesn't bite, but she talks to us. She'll purr-meow when she likes something, and she hisses at us when the answer is no. "Lucky, Let's take a bath." "HISSSSSSS" "Lucky, let's go outside." "HISSSSSS." Funny - but she never bites us.

Here's Lucky doing what she does best.

Then, there's Copper. We used to have a lot of stray cats in our yard. Thanks to Copper, no more strays. He's a Australian Shepherd/Terrier Mix pooch, with a happy temperament.

Our latest belongs to my dd. This kitty was an 8th grade graduation gift, and though she was found and 'saved' she has turned out to be such a fun part of the family. One day I came home and found our wrapped peppermints out of the bowl, and strewn around our living room. Turns out, the kitten was taking them out of the bowl (good thing they're wrapped) and playing with them. We also found out that she likes to play fetch with these. We'll throw them, and she'll chase them and bring them back. Sometimes she'll even bring them all the way to us ;) ... and sometimes she'll jump up on the couch with one so we can throw it for her. It's her favorite game, next to chasing Lucky & pouncing on her. This is Diamond, another really sweet-tempered kitty.

Here's Lucky in our bathroom, sitting on the skylight screen :earseek: I had to close the skylight after that. Don't want to come home to a splat cat.

Okay, and this one isn't really a pet, but when they were doing construction near our neighborhood, he hung around for a couple of weeks .... Took this from my front door.

I have 2 cats, one called Cheeky (as he invited himself in 5 years ago and is still here!) and Figaro.

I also have 3 rabbits called Misty, Holly and Saphire.

I also have lots of fish, some in a tropical tank ande some in the pond outside (where we have some frogs as well all called Borris!)

I would post pictures of them but don't know how to! I tried to look on the technical forum but the page didn't work!

well, had you asked 2 days ago, it would have been less!

We have Saber, 11 year old yellow lab, and Spanky 14 year old orange tiger cat...both even tempered, dogs afraid of the cat etc..

Then we had a death Saturday AM, DH's hamster Ziggy died, so Saturday night, DH DD's and I went to Petco, and got 2, YES I said 2 new teddy bear hamsters....The new ones- DD7's- Oreo, grey and a bit of white, and DD6's Sparkle- Tan with sparkly eyes... We've moved the cage to a higher location, hoping that the cat doesnt try to play with them again like he did Ziggy.

Very nice, MJ, I really like that story of Lucky, very cool.

Here is a picture of our two Siberian Huskies. Tanya, on the left, passed away in '89, age 15, and Keemo, on the right, passed away in '80, almost age 10.

They provided us many years of happiness and companionship, several years before the kids came along and for some years after, Natalie and Vince getting to enjoy them for some of those years too.

After they were gone, we thought our pet/dog days were over, till Vince left to be on his own about 4 years ago, for about 2 months, and then realizing he liked it at home better, LOL. :) He had just taken on a cute little Rottweiler puppy then, Doc. And so, Doc came home with Vince and now he is our 'grand dog', all 165 pounds of him. He is a big guy, but such a joy.

This is Rumpleteazer, our feisty little furkid. DH and I adopted her when she was about 8 weeks old from a vet we knew. I worked in a petshop next door and somebody had abandoned her and an adult female at their office. The vet knew we were looking for a cat and asked us to come see her. DH and I fell in love and that was that. She's been part of our lives for almost 5 years now.

Oh..and you're probably wondering about her name. I named her after one of my favorite characters from the Broadway musical CATS because when she was little, she used to steal anything shiny..earrings, keys, change, you name it. :)

I have a black lab/Siberian Husky mix, named Denny. Denny turned 11 last month, and he is our baby. He has started to slow down (arthritis in hips, more frequent bathroom trips, etc.), but according to the vet, he still has a good 2-3 years left in him. I couldn't imagine life without him!

We always had cats when growing up and so have my sons.

Right now we have three grown cats, Kelly, Tiger and Kippy and then a brand new kitten (who's sick right now:( ) who we haven't even named yet. Just got her yesterday!

Three grey and one dark striped....the male one.:D

Otis is three and a half and is a spoiled pet........hahaha.....he is a Beta....he jumps all over the place when i come into the room.....he has gotten sooooooooooo excited that he has jumped out of his tank to say hello......he landed on the electric bill one day and I just scooped him up and put him back in......One time he jumped out and landed in the sink in the left over cheerios and milk..so I scooped him back up again and put him back in the tank...he is such a cute fluroscent red fishie.......he is very tame and likes to be patted.....I put my finger in some times and he nibbles on it.....but I pat him and he just rolls around in circles for me to do it more........
Okey.....I know I miss my doggie more then you could know.....but Otis is a good sub for a while.......he is so numb though........I wonder if he is getting sort of nutty.....he doesn't eat much or poop much.....so I will keep him a while longer.......he is not a fried dinner yet:crazy:

This is one of our doxies. She is a dapple dachsund. Her name is Pandora's Boxx, aka Dori or Piglet.

We rescued Missy from an elderly woman who had an elderly poodle that just could not handle this doggie when she was a puppy.

I now have 7 animals...

fac64a73.jpg

This is Baby Kat. He is about 7yo and is the "king" of the house. He has gone through so much with us. He has moved from Delaware, to NJ, to FL. The moved 3 times in Fl. What a trooper. He thinks he is part dog.

I also have 2 other cats..no pics though...Orange is my skitish orange tabby and my newest addition is Lucius. Lucius is a 10yo cat that I rescued from the shelter 2 weeks ago. He is doing much better and is getting along with all of the animals.

That brings us to the dogs....

Thats Austin...the daddy dog. He is a hyper 1 and a half year old unfixed male. He can be very bad, then turn around and be soooo loving. He is a momma's boy.
