Do your schools have "red ribbon" week. It's just a big "say no to drugs" campaign. We have special theme days where the kids should wear hats one day, wear red another day, to show their participation I guess. Yesterday's theme??? Oh I just HAVE to share this with you. Yesterday's theme was "Hippie Day." Yes, that's right, kids. To show you're support for saying no to drugs, we're asking you to dress as a hippie. Remember to wear your tie-die. Peace.
Pardon me, I was quite young in the 60s and 70s, but wasn't tie-die the uniform for drug addicts at that time?

I just thought that was TOO funny! I know some of the faculty are younger than I, but they might consult their history books next time they plan the themes! My 13 year old is a big fan of 60s/70s music and culture and he even said to me....as he pulled on his Jimi Hendrix tie dye shirt.... "doesn't this seem wrong???"
(editing to add ...because I know someone will be offended by this... yes I KNOW that you're not a drug addict if you wear tie dye. I wore it myself, in the 80s! But I think we all have a good general idea of what hippiedom was about)
