So... it will be Ohio State vs. ???

Yay it will be FLORIDA!!!

Now just need to see where LSU is being sent.

Being an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and in the Big Ten, I hope Florida gets a chance at Ohio State. I DO NOT like OSU at all and LETS GO GATORS!!!!

I'm going out on a limb and predicting the gators get it.... ;)

:cheer2: :cheer2: It's Great to be a Florida Gator! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Okay, now that the cheer is out of the way...

I think next year we will see yet another BCS rule that a team must win their conference to play for the title. Wasn't there another controversy with Oklahoma losing its conference championship game and then getting to play for the title? I think it was Oklahoma. So this isn't the first time this potential controversy has cropped up.

Of course the best solution is a playoff system. Hopefully I'll see that in my lifetime.

I wouldn't say losing the game by only 3 points in a hostile environment is "blowing it". I'd like to see them play at at neutral site for the National Championship.

Doesn't matter now since they're playing Florida, BUT it may have been a 3 point game, but Michigan was never in any position to win that game...Ohio State outplayed them in every way and it was not as close a game as the score would appear.

And besides...The National Championship is being played at the Fiesta Bowl...that might as well be home field advantage for The Buckeyes!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

it would have been fun to beat them twice this year though... :thumbsup2

GO BUCKS!!! :cheer2:

he,he,he....this is a fun site...

it seems like the school up north excels at feeling sorry for itself!

close game?....they scored their last 8 points....on that 4th down
call..."b/s"..the ball hit the Ohio State defender in the back?

[he didn't even touched the receiver]...then that earlier call..giving away
another 7points....{ hitting their center after the punter kicked..}

didn't we play up north..last year..with the same results.... :rolleyes1

hostile?...like blue's fans...chanting.. bring cooper back... poor lil blue's
fans....there's a reason why we call it ..."home field advantage".

even a better selling point..florida has a better mascot..gators are
so cool :thumbsup2 and their school colors are much :artist: ...

than THE "out house"...yellow/blue....speakin of... :teeth:

so sorry...i'm all out..of hankies...but i think i can spare...a roll or
2...of our capital m' blue "tp"....to blow your snot noses on.... :groom:

just saying...my favorite blue's item..is my doormat...nothing like wiping
my dirty shoes..first thing of the day..and last.

:mickeyjum :mickeyjum :mickeyjum's O-H-I-O....WHY?..because "we"
like it here!!! while the school up north... ? is the yellow &
brown spot...on the horizon? :crazy2:,

Yes, it was Oklahoma and I'm surprised they didn't pass the rule after that happened, but they did not and so as of right now Michigan could have played for the title. I agree that they need to make it a rule, force Notre Dame to get with the program and join a conference already, and have 4 or 6 major conferences, with each conference winner and a couple or more at large teams to make a total of 8 go into a playoff - it would only take 3 games to reach a true championship in an 8 team format. Three weeks. And they don't have to be consecutive. Play two, then take a week off before the championship game. Whatever. But the excuse that a playoff would take too much time and be disruptive to the players' schooling is pure BS. The basketball and baseball teams miss a heck of a lot more time during their playoffs (or regular seasons for that matter) than the football players do.

Yup that was the year Oklahoma played LSU in the Sugar Bowl and the first year we started hearing USC complaining about how unfair the BCS was and how they should be there... blah blah blah and basically stole a part of the National Championship from us!

Anyways... I agree with a playoff system but why should it only be 8 teams?? That will just start the whole arguement that the playoffs should be 10 teams or 20 teams or whatever so that who ever gets left out that year can say they should be included.

My main beef with the BCS is the league tie ins. I'm sorry but the Big East for example is no SEC or ACC and shouldn't get an automatic bid for their champion if they don't stack up against other more deserving teams.

Well, the NFL has a playoff system and it is seriously flawed - because of the strength of conferences. If NCAA went to a playoff system it would be the same.

I agree. Michigan got 10 points off turnovers that they didn't force OSU to make. Ohio State made mistakes in the game, but Michigan was always playing catch-up.

It will be much more interesting playing Florida, since those teams haven't met before. Much better than two teams from the same conference who've already played each other meeting again in the championship game.

The buckeyes have never played at the stadium of this years national championship game. The BCS added a new bowl called primarily the BCS national championship game in addition to the fiesta bowl. They also moved the games from sun devil stadium to Glendale Stadium where the cardinals play. I guess they kinda have home state advantage being here so many times but no home field advantage.

If your going to the game I don't want you to head to Sun Devil Stadium and find out the game isn't there! :)

As I type this, I am looking out of my office window at the "MECCA" of college football, Kinnick Stadium (as those radio guys say).

While it's a moot point now (Florida is playing OSU in the Championship Game), I had hoped it would be Michigan. We too, would like to see OSU beat (a sibling rivalry type of thing; DH and I are on faculty at UI, sis and her husband are faculty at OSU), but having 2 Big Ten teams in the Championship Game would bring lots of prestige and $$$ to the Big Ten Conference.

If you can't win your conference, you do NOT deserve to be in the BCS Championship game.......end of story.

So, if the top 10 teams are from the same conference, the championship game should be between #1 and #11? :confused3

Ah...doesn't matter....They can beat the Gators in a boat, they can beat the Gators in a Moat, They can beat The Gators near or Far, They can Beat the Gators here or There, they can beat the Gators ANYWHERE!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Seriously, this is the best Ohio State team that I have seen in years.....they are amazing to watch and I believe that they will have another perfect season. Troy Smith is just incredible and so is the rest of the team. My husband (BIG sports buff and Texas fan) kept telling me that they wouldn't be as good this year since they lost so many starters.....but he willingly eats his words now!!

Tressel WILL take this game seriously though...he takes every game seriously...That's why we LOVE HIM!!

You want to be a successful Ohio State Coach, you need to beat Michigan, and he's done that.....both Home AND away...now on to the GATORS!!!

Some Florida should be there because they won their conference. Some say Florida should be there because Michigan had their chance.

But in my unbiased opinion (I can't stand Michigan or Ohio State) I believe in a neutral site Michigan would beat Florida. Therefore I believe Michigan is the better team and should be playing Ohio State again.

I totally agree that Michigan is better than Florida. I really believe that Ohio State would and could beat Michigan in a National Championship game...but doesn't matter anymore...

There will always be controversy no matter how they do it.....but I'm just happy that there's no denying who is #1
