So what exactly should our next move be? A full frontal unprovoked assault on Iran? A few days after our own Intel says that they are of no harm to us? More diplomacy? What?
I agree and for those of you who favor bombing the bejesus out of Iran, lets lay all the cards out on the table. Are you fully prepared with the extreme consequences that will come about from as Laugh O. Grams put it,
A full frontal unprovoked assault on Iran.
Are you prepared for the oil spigot to be turned off, even temporarily?
Are you prepared for the huge shock that would do to our economy and fellow Americans?
Can you imagine what OPEC would do in response to America taking military action against Iran? It's not foolish to imagine the shortages and gas lines of the early 70's, but even worse.
Are you prepared for the outright anger and violence that will come from the Muslim world? Not that it's a picnic now, but would you be prepared to see the gains we made in Iraq disappear rapidly?
Are those who are in favor of military action, will you be joining the ranks of the military to help with amount of man power needed to perform such an action? If we are going to perform "Iraq, part 2" (the sequel) on Iran, we need to be having a draft and I know how well that topic goes over on these boards.
You tell Americans that they might be paying 10 bucks a gallon for gas,
our economy really in the crapper, and nation wide military draft instituted, that will go over like fart in church.
Any clear cut, sane ideas and suggestions would be appreciated. Seriously, we need to examine all the possibilities and stop with catchy slogans and talking points.
As the Who once sang,
We won't get fooled again.
