I have had this really horrible awful horrible terrible problem I have been dealing with in one of my volunteer positions with a couple of ladies. Two of the ladies were not happy with the way another lady was handling things and things were getting pretty nasty.

Well, the person that is over me and I met with the ladies - first with the two that were upset with the one and then the other night with the one they were upset with. Well, everything ended up being run according regulations and something that they were concerned about ended up being fine. The hope was that this one lady would be removed from her duty if we found justification to. Well, we found no justification to remove her and I had the wonderful duty to notify the two ladies that there is no reason for us to remove the one lady, that I would be guarding and monitoring things and if things got out of hand then they would be further taken care of.

Well...I have not heard one thing from either of these two ladies. My guess is they are not happy with the outcome (one of them was for sure the one lady was violating an issue) as I have not heard one word from them. Now mind you, I have had emails upon emails and prior to that phone calls upon phone calls about this situation. I had spent approximately 25 hours on this, not including the 2 hours at the meeting the other night.

My hope is that all will go well, no one else will get hurt, and life will go on. So do you think they are probably upset with me and the person that made the decision - I really don't care if they are, we had no justification to remove this woman from her duties. Oh well....gotta love life!

Based on a similar situation I had to deal with I would guess that the two are unhappy with the decision to not remove the other person. They will just have to realize that no matter what they think, you have to deal with the situation based on the facts, not what someone tells you they think. If you did otherwise, it would only hurt the organization that you volunteer for and everyone in it.

I would not worry about those two one bit--you have done the right thing for everyone involved whether they can appreciate that or not.

If they are upset they will get over it. Just be glad you are being deluged with so many emails now. I agree with SonjaH, consider it a reprieve.
