What is YOUR favorite DVC resort? Why?
We are going in August and bringing a friend. We're currently choosing which DVC resort to stay at. Any suggestions?

I used to say OKW, which is still great, but now that I've experienced AKV, I want to stay nowhere else! I'd been to the resort for dinner at Boma before, and we loved checking out the lobby and Arusha Rock. But the experience of waking up, making coffee and sitting on our balcony watching the animals on the savanna was AMAZING and I can't wait to do it again!

As much as we love SSR and the DTD area, We just couldn't have had a better trip staying at BCV in June. the ease for getting to those 2 parks for just a quick few rides while DW rested and got ready for the night was just way too nice.

I'm hoping to do 2 resorts with this next trip as it will be between 12 -14 days total maybe try AKL/BWV or even VWL and back to the BCV for a few rsting days with SAB.. I really just can't think of any of the DVCs being a bad stay

We have not stayed at many (yet), but have visited most of them just to try to get a feel. I always try to book at the 11 month window so we can be for the most part assured we will get the time and room we want at our home resort (SSR).

Now - after saying that, our goal is to stay at all the resorts at some point. So - I always call at the 7 month (after having booked) to see what is available for the time we are going down. Last October we changed our place to the Boardwalk to try it, and loved it. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge once, and that resort got us going on joining DVC.

My views :

1. SSR - A very tranquil resort, beautifully landscaped. I love the resort, I enjoy jogging around in the morning. Having DTD so close is great for extra food/dining options. On-site, I like all the pools, being so close to the LBV Golf Course, and just the feel

2. VWL - Another tranquil place, love the theming.

3. BWV / BCV - You feel in the center of the action. Great because you can walk to both Epcot and MGM (not a bad walk). You can watch the fireworks at EPCOT from the resort or take the short walk. It is nice to not have to hop a bus back to a resort once the show is over. Tons of food options with Epcot and the two resorts. Great pool at BCV -

4. OKW - I have not stayed, but walked around the resort, and played golf through it I would have no problem staying there either.

5. AKV - Have not stayed or seen them yet.

I have stayed at BWV, BCV, VWL, OKW, SSR and VB. My favorite so far is my home at BWV. I really like to be in the middle of everything! The main pool is close, great dining is close, and Epcot and MGM are close. While I love the pool at BCV, I did not like the hike over to SAB.

We're staying at AKV next, so my favorite might change .

Well I talked to my dad and we came up with an idea. If we can get AKV we'll stay there but if we can't then we'll go to BWV
