Never mind. I just realized that transferred points will retain their home resort, so transferring my HHI points into my AKV contract won't help.
Here's the scenario:
At 11 months out, I booked 2 value studios for 5 nights (100 points) using 17 banked AKV points plus 83 current AKV points.
At 7 months out, I decided to change the reservation to a standard 2-BR for 5 nights (175 points) using 17 banked AKV points, 100 current AKV points, 28 borrowed AKV points, 7 one-time UY points, plus 23 current HHI points. (I know, confusing!)
So now I have found out that we can't be there for the first night, so I need to drop the first night which would drop the reservation to 140 points. I know I have to use the 17 banked AKV points, the 28 borrowed AKV points, plus the 7 one-time UY points first. That leaves 88 points needed. What I wanted to do was use 79 AKV points and 9 HHI points, but they are telling me I have to use all AKV points first because I have all 88 in that contract. They are not allowing me to use any HHI points. This will leave 9 extra HHI points that will end up going to waste, and I'll be short 9 points for future AKV trips.
I hope someone can help me figure this out today. What I had planned was going to give me an extra 14 HHI points (23-9=14) that I wanted to book an extra night onto my fall HHI trip. The 7 month window opens Wednesday for that date, and today is really the only day I can call MS since I'm a teacher and in class the next few days. I'm definitely stressing!
