So I have my gift cards now what help please

To me that means that you need the physical cards to make purchases. There's no reason you couldn't keep it in your account to track the balance.
It states it is not a “mobile wallet”. I don’t know how they could be more specific than that. You can do what you want, but if you’re unfortunately, one of the folks that get hacked, at least man up and don’t cry to Disney about it.

Yup. A Mobile Wallet is like Apple Pay. You can't pay for something out of the Disney Gift Card website, you can just check balances and combine cards. The two-factor authorization makes it more secure to just keep the cards there to check balances on the fly.

PLEASE do not leave gift cards with values on the Disney gift card site -- too many accounts have been hacked and the value(s) lost. As others mention, you can combine them up to a max of $1000 on a card, but then delete the card from the website.
Hi if I already have a few gift cards on the site and then delete them that won’t delete the amount on those cards correct? It will just take the card off the site?

This is what I do - I don't carry ANY gift cards - that's just something else to get lost or stolen. I charge EVERYTHING to my MB, then, night before we leave, we look up our balance. I then get on the Target website and buy electronic giftcards using my Red Card (5% discount). I usually then either have a couple of old gift cards with no balance that I bring with me, or go down to the gift store and buy a couple of cards with minimum balance - I think it's $15 each. I then go on the Disney Gift Card website and transfer the balance from the electronic gift cards I just bought onto those cards. I carry those down to the concierge and settle everything up. That said, I had trouble transferring the balance on the Disney site on our last trip so I just took the gift card #s down to the concierge and we were able to transfer the cards directly. It's easier if you have physical cards though.

There you go. I saved 5% and I never took the risk of carrying anything that could have been lost or stolen.

If they say that, why do they let you store up to 6 cards in your account? According to their website you can "Easily access and manage up to 6 cards in your account. Check balances, view transaction history and transfer funds between cards."

They allow you to do that so you can view your balance and transactions. Jesus Christ.

Another thing people can do is get a digital giftcard. When you get the email with it, it should have an Apple wallet link and whatever android has. You can then add that digital card to your wallet. You can then reload it to your hearts content and have a digital giftcard that if you lose, you'll have bigger problems then just losing a disney giftcard... ;)

The major downside is whatever denomination you buy it in, it will always just say that amount. For the people who like to keep track as they go, just keep a running balance in a note on your phone.

Ezpz.

You know that’s a great idea. Put everything on my magic band and NOT carry the gift cards and the just go and apply the gift cards I have to my balance before check out! Keep the cards locked in the safe no risk of losing. I never even thought of that thanks

Hotel safes aren't exactly risk-free.

That's what I used to do when we'd use gift cards at the parks -- charge everything back to the room and use the GC to pay off the room charge balance. Now I just use any gift cards to pay off my package balance before we even arrive. No worries about transporting or losing our gift cards.

Don't they charge your credit card at some point during your stay if your spending goes above a certain threshold? I thought I heard that before.

We are DVC so we pay our annual MFs the same way. The GC's we buy while on vacation are for anything we buy in the parks - food, souvenirs, etc. It save's us right around $100 every trip getting the discount on that alone.

They used to. At AoA, they used to charge your card when you hit $500 (which we did at lightning speed with 5 kids). When I used to use the GCs to pay off the balance, I'd stop at the front desk every day or 2 to apply them to the balance. Then they increased the limit to $1,000 so we'd usually hit that by day 4 or 5 which gave me more time to get to the front desk to use the GCs. I haven't used GCs at the resort in several years but when we were at Disney last summer, we only had one charge for a balance of $1600 and that was on checkout day (that was about the lowest room charge balance we ever had. Since we mobile ordered our food most days, those charges didn't go bac to the room). I believe they now put incremental $100 holds on the credit card on file throughout the stay and that eliminated the $500/$1000 charging limits (though I never saw any holds on our card last year).

I have an android and I've never used whatever the pay thing is. Are you saying I could put my gift card on that and they can scan my phone to pay? I realize I'm living in the stone ages lol. Thanks.

Nope, you cannot.

Yes, you can. There is a digital barcode when you pull up the digital giftcard that they scan.

(at least on the Apple Wallet you can, no clue if android is different but I'd assume its similar)
