December jumps to 3rd next year as far as I could tell. They lumped Dec1-15 along with 16-23 into the same category which puts it behind Jan and Early May.

At least with BLT, they're making December a higher-point period for 2023 (from a tier 2/second lowest time to a tier 3). Points have to be balanced between years, so January and post-labor day September will be the lower-point season for that resort instead of September and December.

All this is really making me consider booking my home resort 11 months out and then switching to a less-demand resort at 7 months (I've been eyeballing YC/BC just because of its proximity to IG/skyliner).

We are going this December as well! We are going to the Poly the week leading into Christmas since the kids are off school then - Dec 17th-24th. Feel likes its a steal points wise with it being Christmas season AND a school holiday.

To this day, BCV is the one place I have not been able to snag a 7 month stay at. Admittedly, I have not been as dedicated to it as I could be. Just the random times I have tried, it's been booked up. (Pre-pandemic. I have not tried in the last few visits). I even managed to get VGF before BCV.

Scored BCV for a week this March at 7 months. Just cobbled another 7 day stay at the beginning of August by booking and stalking… can’t imagine doing it in December. Was able to book a Jambo standard studio for the first week of December though, so I’m more than happy… especially given the mess with online access to MS this week!

I can’t imagine doing it for December. We were lucky enough to get a 1 bedroom BCV from 1/1/22 to 1/7/22 at 7 months by piecing it together day by day behind what was likely Disney marathon walkers. We couldn’t get 12/30/21 and 12/31/22, of course, but that’s my own fault for not adding those dates until 4.5 months out. We have a 1 bedroom standard view booked for BWV for the first full week of December 2022 but it all depends on the kids’ school calendar. If it holds true to pattern, there should be a couple of full professional development days where the kids don’t have to go to school (so they would really be missing only three days of school). If the calendar changes, we will have to cancel

I don't walk. Not because I have some huge problem with it. I do not like it, but if Disney allows it, they allow it. I am just not diligent enough to walk. Out of sight, out of mind. I would book it, then completely forget about it for 2 months then go "oh, crap!" and by then anything would be gone and I am stuck with dates I never wanted. I'll stalk - which means to me I log in whenever I think about it and see if there are dates I want. But I don't get up in the middle of the night and refresh the heck outta my browser. If I can find a date that is open that I want when I look, I will take it. If I think about it, I may go online when I have time between meetings or during lunch or when I get home and if I see something better, I may move to it.

But what I don't see and can't get.... <shrug> "There's always tomorrow for dreams to come true". Either I will stay there or I will not. Eventually if I decide it's really that critical for me I may expend extra effort.... but it's really not that important. Going to Disney is important. Whether I stay at BLT, OKW, AKL, or BCV - I like variety, but I'm not gonna dwell on it.

Anyway... that's just how I choose to do my vacations. Others I know are much more dedicated to having everything perfect or just the way they want, or are managing others (sometimes unreasonable) expectations, etc.

BCV has not been available when I get it in my mind to look - at least not for the dates and room types I am looking for. Someday it probably will be.

I own at both AKV Jambo and Boardwalk and need a 2 BR for the week heading into Christmas (gasp! I know!)... I would LOVE to get the Value (Jambo) or the Standard (BWV) at either one of those, however I am afraid I will miss out by others who have more points and snag them up right away by booking earlier in the week than I can. If I have lost you, I apologize... perhaps an example is a better way to explain. My dates would be December 22 to 26. Someone else who does Dec. 19-26 (or something along those lines) might snag the availability for those particular rooms. Am I able to start a reservation earlier in the week and then CHANGE the reservation by knocking off a couple of nights at the beginning? Does it let you do that online?

ALSO - when is Disney going to do away with us only being able to borrow 1/2 of the next year's points? I understand why they did it originally, but now people have caught back up on getting reservations and it's not fair to sell the DVC the one way and talk about banking and borrowing points and continue to not let us borrow ALL of the next year's points if we need to! I would be staying longer than the 22nd-26th except for the fact of the whole borrowing dealio and not being able to borrow more than 1/2 of the following year's points!

Yes, what you have in mind is called walking a reservation, and if you haven’t started your walk yet, you need to start trying every day to get your walk started, because there are others who started walking those rooms weeks ago. And no one knows when the 50% restriction will end - there may actually be a glut of points banked that won’t be worked out for another year. Or more.

Some people started walking months ago. But yes, you booked a trip from now and then modify it forward to your real dates.

You do not have to move it every day..just before the date opens for the check out date you have booked.

Go on tomorrow, book Dec 9th to 16th…assuming you want a 7 night stay…and then go back and move it forward in 6 days so you have December 15th to December 22nd.

You can go into it and move it more often if you want to.

I’m excited! We got RIV SV Studio for the dates we needed during the first week of December. I had to be on multiple devices at 8 am and watch the World Clock turn 8….but it worked.

We got a one bedroom right at 11 months 8 AM. We originally had something the week before, but the dates didn’t work for a cruise we wanted. Now we have SSR studio for three nights, because the BWV studio I had had for the preceding week was not available for the week we changed to, but the one bedroom was available at VWL.

When just about every DVC Studio is unavailable for the exact 11 month date, something is going on! We have lots of points, and we use them, but the borrowing restrictions do hurt. I would have booked a one bedroom at BWV, but can’t borrow enough.
