Hi. We’ll be at WDW the week of New Years. We’ll have a rental car but I’m wondering if we’re better off driving to the parks in the morning (maybe rope dropping HS but otherwise leaving hotel around 9-930) or taking the bus from the All stars?

We’ll take the bus to MK for sure. But would it be faster to bus to the others? Thanks!

We did NYE at MK in 2019. The amount of people was absolutely incredible. Could barely move after it was all over. We were staying at Wildnerness Lodge so took the boat back over. Could see the car traffic getting out. Heard the next day that there was 83,000 people in park and took 2-3 hours just to get out of parking lot.

Traffic will be horrible!!!
The advantage about having your own car, you control your 'space'. You will be able to be comfortable while waiting for hours in traffic.
Getting to park will be 'OK'., leaving will be different. At closing , find a spot to sit and wait. Try to let everyone leave park.
Have a midnight snack, watch a video, talk to your family.

NYE itself around property has never been the same since Covid. The epic traffic you’d see back then really doesn’t happen anymore, or at least not the extreme it used to be.

Personally I wouldn’t overthink it too much, but I always lean towards Disney transportation during busier times. Bypassing the auto toll plazas, especially at places like DAK which can back up, is worth it IMO.
