And I asked if Spiltsville will be a part of the Disney Dining and/or water parks and more option and they responded to me saying:

Thank you for your interest in our Downtown Disney location! Splitsville will be a part of the dining plan and I believe as we get closer to opening, they will be putting that on the Disney website. The dining plan is valid strictly for dining and does not apply bowling or billiards.

If you are interested in bowling, we do offer walk-in rates and lane reservations. With both options, you do have a personal server on the lanes which means you can eat and drink while you bowl. The dining plan will be available on the lanes as well as just in the dining areas.

If you are looking to have a party at Splitsville and book a lane(s) with a pre-ordered buffet or platters, the dining plan will not apply to this.

Splitsville is not a part of the water parks and more either. I hope this answers your immediate questions, but please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!

Thank you,
Kylie

I felt I should share this in case no one else knew as well.I think its awesome the dining while bowling will be part of the disney dining plan!:yay:

Is there an official policy on restaurants on Disney property MUST be on the dining plan as of last year? I can't think of any that aren't at this point. I was really surprised when Downtown Disney's Babycakes NYC was added on to snack credits and TRex came on board. Now they just need AMC's Fork & Screen to be added!

Thanks for sharing this email, spydchic99--we've been wondering how it would work. I'm hoping to see some pics & reviews of Splitsville (once it opens) before our February trip. Last I heard it was scheduled to open sometime in the fall of 2012--does anyone know if that has changed or if a more firm date has been announced?

Not that anyone is aware of. If you look up the DDP brochures for 2013, many independently owned locations are still missing as they consider whether or not to participate in the new year.

There have been hold-outs in the past but I suspect most (if not all) have come to realize that they stand to lose significant business by not accepting DDP business.

It's my understanding that Disney gives participants a fixed allowance for every credit redeemed. In other words, a restaurant stands to earn XX dollars for every TS DDP credit used at their location. Over time, most have undoubtedly tweaked their menu items and portion sizes to fit the Disney financial model. If they are at risk of taking a loss on a certain entree, they could simply eliminate that entree, purchase cheaper ingredients, serve a smaller portion, etc.
